Q: Would it fit a Petzl best helmet?

It sure should, my Fire Helmet is thicker, and it works well, I would say you should have no problem getting it to mount right up. For climbing a standard headlamp would be center mounted, but the durability of the streamlight will out weigh the headlamp. It's been in several hot fires, and been fine.The Petzl Best, would have melted....... but I would bet that's not a concern. Hope this helped! mark

I'm not sure but I fought tons of fires with this one. Its plenty bright enough. Some people complains it blinds them. Lumens are much more pronouced indoors. Look for a flashlight with super sturdy construction and a good mount before you're concerned with brightness. You absolutely can't go wrong with this one.
