Finally a device that keeps Car Intruders away
My vehicle was recently stolen and I decided to procure a device to keep my vehicle and belongings safe. “Keep” seemed the only system that offered a connected experience I was looking for. My criteria was simple -- (i) simple installation process, (ii) scare would be intruders, and (iii) inform me of any suspicious activity.I have been using Keep for almost 2 months now. And here are my thoughts:Installation Process:This was easier than I expected it to be. On my Honda, the OBD port was easy to locate. The Keep app walked me through the few installation steps and I was able to install the device in the cupholder and secure the cable with the clips. I added the provided Keep fob to my Keychain and was ready.Keep during Use:I really like that the LED ring on Keep tells me the status. When Keep is monitoring and protecting my car, the LED ring turns bright Red. BTW, Keep is smart enough to figure out when I have walked away from my car and arms itself. When I return to my car, it also automatically disarms, and the LED ring turns green. When Keep detects a potential intruder, the LED ring blinks and there are loud chirps. I get an alert on my iphone and a video (occasionally) if a person comes too close to my car. Even when parking on the street, there are few false alarms.I am keeping my Keep and the subscription. Gives me peace of mind that my vehicle and its contents are safe...

Was expecting more from this product
I really had high hopes for this product since I bought it to scare people from trying to go near my car. I had it on the highest sensitivity and you had to literally almost touch the window for the alarm to go off. I’ve tried refreshing the device and messing with the settings hoping there was some kind of mistake or error on the sensitivity but I still had to almost press my face against the window/glass for the alarm to go off. Another thing is that the camera doesn’t reach the rear window so if someone was there, the alarm wouldn’t be able to go off until they get near the device. Another thing was that there was cable holders to keep the wires in place but I used all 6 of them and not ONE had strong enough sticky grip to stay on my car. So the wires were just dangling and I had to buy my own cable clips to hold the wire in place. Lastly I wish the camera had night vision. The picture I had was during sunset and it was almost dark and even during the night you couldn’t see anything or picture out who was in the picture if someone set off the alarm.

Worth the money
I am loving my Keep. My car got broken into and I knew I needed something to help avoid another break in. The installation is very easy. Once you download the app, it provides you with step by step directions to install. Customer service is great. The security stickers were missing in my box when it arrived and I also wanted to see about getting a second key Fob. I contacted customer service. They responded the same day. I had my stickers and additional key fob in less than a week. And my new key fob was already programmed to my Keep so I didn't have to do anything but put it on my keychain. Their techs are very prompt at getting back to you with any technical questions or issues you may have. I am happy I made this purchase.

Unresponsive, stuck in armed mode, and easy to remove (Update: but improving, see edit.)
Edit (4/19/2024):Bought a second one. Seems to be working without issue. Only problem I'm currently facing is despite deleting my account when I returned the last one, it seems it wasn't really deleted and now the old returned one is still stuck attached to my account with no way to remove it which is fairly annoying. But, otherwise, it seems to be working fine. Still not quite 5 stars though as it is still easy to remove. All in all I think this could be perfect if they fixed some pain points with the app (ability to remove devices and perform full factory resets of settings would be nice.) Would also prefer the devices wasn't in a cupholder secured with just rubber pads or double sided tape but otherwise seems to do what it's supposed to.Edit (4/5/2024):Bumped to three stars (for now) as the founder of the company actually reached out to talk about the issues I had, which is a lot more than you'd get from most companies. I'm planning to install a full hardwired Compustar system & dashcam into my vehicle, but still want to get and use one of these as a more visible theft deterrent (mainly for when I take the doors off my Jeep or park in shady areas) and plan to repurchase once the bugs are ironed out. I was told they'll be adding some useful things like checking if you can yank it out at the end of the setup process and giving the option to be sent some leg extensions or double-sided tape if it's not secure enough, though I'd like to see those in the box since I can't imagine it'd be prohibitively expensive to include and would likely help a lot of people without the additional delays from waiting for them to arrive separate from the device. Also, the ability to fully factory reset the device from the app when something goes wrong would be welcomed (and may be on the way?) as the reset option does not seem to clear settings at the moment (and so, doesn't help with the situation I encountered.)All in all, it's a good concept and it does work for what it's supposed to do when it's functioning normally (my friend has one, and his seems to work fine,) but just has some issues that need to be ironed out. Based on the conversation I had, I'm fairly confident the company genuinely cares about the product and is actively trying to improve it, and it's still in its early days, so I'm not mad. I look forward to giving it another try once the current problems are fixed, at which point I'll hopefully be updating this review to reflect the intended experience rather than the one I had.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Original:Company claims it's almost impossible to remove once anchored. I can easily pull it out with some moderately aggressive wiggling while pulling in under a second or so. Why's this important? Yeah, you'll be on video while it yells at you, but that GPS tracking becomes worthless the moment someone tosses it out the window. Mine also is stuck in armed mode after setting it to manual arm mode and arming it to test it. Indefinite "changes pending" and now I can neither disarm it nor set it back to manual mode and resetting it doesn't fix it. Super frustrating. In terms of security, this is purely deterrent and alerting and will do nothing to actually protect the vehicle from someone who decides to ignore it. The camera quality also doesn't seem good enough to actually identify someone and is facing upward at a weird angle due to it being in a cupholder. It's nice to know something is happening but would be hard to do anything about it if it's more than a quick sprint from you. I had some difficulties figuring out how to setup a mobile plan for it or active monitoring so it might be nice to have that be a bit clearer within the application.I wanted to like this and was planning to use it as a theft deterrent in combination with a proper security and tracking system, but now I have no choice to return it unless I want to deal with it going off the entire time I'm in the vehicle.
