This review is for the flat version of this pillow.The pillow was quite soft (i.e. memory foam with a ~4 second recovery time) and comfortable. I would have personally liked the memory foam even softer.However, I discovered an issue. After investigating I concluded that this pillow's thickness wasn't designed for soft bed surfaces. If you have a bed with a memory foam surface your body rests lower, which causes your head to be tilted upwards when using this pillow. This negates the main stated benefit of this memory foam pillow which should normally be able to keep your head aligned with your body.So if the bed surface is hard this (flat version) pillow works. If the bed surface is soft it doesn't. In fact my older (not so special) pillow held my head at a much more aligned position.For soft bed surfaces I suspect that the other version of this pillow with the curved profile probably works fine.It would be great if the seller specified this small but massively important detail.

I bought this for my son who has neck problems and he finds it very comfortable. However I have issues with the polyester type cover . The material catches on his beard and has "pilled". It is difficult to remove to wash without the (rather poor )zip catching on the foam and the blue of the gel shows through so that it looks dirty even when newly washed. The pillow is a very tight fit in a regular pillow case spoiling the shape. I wish it came with a couple of spare over pillow cases to preserve the well designed interior. I am thinking of contacting the manufacturers about this. ( I didn't) Later. I have now found that the pillow absorbs the smell from a smolkers breath .Ugh! Can't wash it . currently trying to air it in the garden. Pity, as the pillow really does ease a painful neck ( I was sceptical at first)

As other reviewers have noted, this pillow does smell a bit at first (the supplier even emailed to say so). I'd recommend washing the cover a couple of times, and leaving the pillow out for a while. I also used bicarb of soda on it, but didn't make much difference. After 2 /3 weeks, the smell had gone - it was used for a few nights, then the cover removed and washed, and the pillow left out for a couple of days. This isn't ideal.The pillow itself is ok-ish. I've tried a few different ones that cost different amounts, and this is ok for the money. I'm unconvinced about the gel layer, especially once you have both the pillow cover, and a pillow case. Over time, it's also become a bit less supportive (~6 months)

I couldn't be more happy with this pillow. It does exactly what it says it will. Sleeping right through the night dont wake up to turn my pillow, as I usually would. Yes my back has felt better not sure if its from the lack of tossing and turning or the position of the pillow but either way it is improved. I gave it to my daughter to try as well, she said it was great as it didnt move .Not really sure what she meant by that but she also gave this a big thumbs up. Yes I will have to buy another one. I dont usually write reviews but I have spent a fortune on pillows over the years and am so pleased with this one. Hope this helps with your pillow search.

I was having severe neck pain from using the pillows in our rented apartment for almost 2 weeks. My first night using this pillow and my neck pain was gone and hasn't been back since over the past 4 nights. I let my dad try it as well and he loved it, so I ordered another one for him. The pillow is medium firm which is perfect. I'm a side sleeper and it provides just enough support while still being soft enough for comfort. There's a very faint scent from the pillow but it's not noticeable once I put a pillow cover on it. I was able to use the pillow the day I received it which was great. Highly recommended.

Cool gel was really nice and the pillow is super supportive and feels decent quality, but it's just too thick. Using it on a regular mattress, my neck is kind of tilted upwards to the point of getting neck pain. Others have said it's too thin - possibly a batch change?

It is really very comfortable, I love the memory foam filling which provides great neck support. The size is also perfect, not too big and not small. Highly recommended to everyone who is looking for high quality item for good value for money. Thanks to the seller for the best sleep I’ve ever had!

As with any new pillow, it takes a few nights to get used to it however once you do - worth the effort. Compared with other pillows I've had, this is by far the best; best to return to its original shape, best to fall into, best to rest your head on. Just the best.
