I bought it without looking at the measurements for what I wanted but it worked out for my plan.. I seen how you can turn an ikea photo ledge upside down and make it flush with the back of your sofa to make a shelf and I wanted to add a hidden plug socket to keep it tidy and more multifunctional and I do love it! My only reason for not giving it full stars is when I pull out a wire from one of the USB ports, it comes out really hot.

Due to not getting round to sorting out the work station yet I have not actually fitted this and tried it insitu. However, the extension socket is sturdy and I like the pop up facility on it so that the work surface will be linear when it is in place.As it is going into a work station the USB outlets were crucial and again the design of this extension socket covers all bases.I will update the review , if needed, when I have the socket in place.

I was a bit surprised at the size of this unit when it arrived - it is a lot more substantial than I was expecting. Granted it is well made and very robust but for my taste it is just too big for what it is. To recess this into your desk or worktop would require a hole that measures 23 cm x 11 cm which is big for only a couple of sockets (plus USB charging ports too).A further issue is that the part that pops up is relatively narrow, meaning that if you have an appliance with a larger plug it will be very awkward to fit it in to the available space - a typical sized plug does fit, but theres not a lot of room on either side when pulling it out.So, yes it does work and yes it is well made but for me its just a bit too overbuilt for what it does. I have seen plenty other recessed pop up sockets that come up in a tower which have 4 sockets on them and require a much smaller cut out.
