Unbelievable battery life- brilliant bit of kit
This little radio is insane. The battery life is incredible, I listen to Bluetooth while working and it lasted well over 11days minimum run time of 6 hours a day and still had a quarter battery life left. Quick to charge and easy to get a back up rechargeable battery. I have tried adding the additional batteries. The sound quality is ok, perfect for what I wanted it for which was a few days camping. The DAB seems good, I am really impressed with it, looks well built and easy to use. 9/10 from me, the sound quality could be a little more refined if that’s what you are looking for, but for me it was more about practicality and battery life.

Great little work-a-day radio
I wanted a little radio for when I'm pottering about the greenhouse / garden and this fits the bill perfectly. It's very sturdy with a rubberised finish that has so far withstood various knocks / drizzle / crumbs of compost. I've had the radio for about 6 months now and have used it regularly outside for about 3 months.Plus points:- stays charged from the sun most of the time if left in a sunny spot (the greenhouse in my case)- red indicator light tells you if the radio is charging- when the charge runs low (after some hours of use), a 1-minute wind-up keeps it going for another half-hour or so- good reception for both FM and AM- capacity for nice loud volume if needed- torch is surprisingly powerful (but a narrow beam)Minus points:- sound quality is not great but you wouldn't buy this radio for the sound quality- a bit fiddly to tune it using the rotary switch and I also find the tuning drifts slightly after a while- volume seems to vary spontaneously at times- top buttons are a bit small and fiddly- instructions are not overly usefulI charged it up using the USB connection when I first got it but it hasn't been necessary since then. I've used it many times when I've been out in the garden the entire day and it's kept going all day if sunny, with a few windings to keep it going later in the day. I mostly listen to sport on it so the tinny tones don't trouble me. I've now started using it indoors doing some decorating because it's so handy to perch on a window-sill.I've never used the alarm so can't comment on that but I've been absolutely delighted with this radio so far. I can see it being handy for days out / camping as well. I've actually grown so fond of it that I've even given it a name!

Excellent little thing :-)
So, the delivery man arrived & I got this out of the packet.I pulled it out of the box, didn't look at the instructions & wound it up (not very energetically, but the little red light went on so it counted) for ooooh, must be all of 1 minute then I tried to turn the radio on.It didn't work!!Another minute winding, no result. That's when I noticed there is a little switch on the underside you have to turn on.As long as that is off, nothing will work (including the clock)It doesn't seem to keep the time if that switch is turned off, but it may be that it would have with more charging. I'll have to see at some point in the future. So, now I'd set the on switch, the clock turned on, the radio worked & the torch worked too.The sound quality isn't as good as on my more expensive radios, but it's fine. The volume goes up far too loud for me to listen to if I'm sat near it.The dial on the left hand turns the radio on & then the volume up (or down & off if you turn it the other way)The dial on the right hand tunes the radio in.When the radio is on, you can't see the time, just the radio station. It's easy to set the time, you just hold the time button then press the hour & minute ones to get to the right time.Alarm the same, which means that long after I've lost the instructions I'll be able to reset it with no problems. The alarm turns the radio on when it goes offAt night the torch is bright enough to read a book by if you had to, so if the power went you could use it to get down the stairs & see what's going on with no problem. On day 1 I probably spent a total of 10 minutes winding it, mostly for the novelty value. The winder doesn't care if you wind it clockwise or anticlockwise so this would be just as easy to use for a left handed or right handed person. When not in use, it tucks away in a recess shaped for it in the back.My toddler is currently obsessed with turning every electrical item in the house on, so this radio ran for at least 5 hours on day one, with the torch on intermittently - it may have been charging from the sunlight though as he kept putting it on the windowsill.Setting the 12hr clock & the alarm is simple, you just hold the time set (or alarm set) button then use the hour & minute buttons to get the time right. If you go past the hour you want, you'll have to cycle back through the whole day as it doesn't go backwards. The radio goes on when the alarm goes off at about half the maximum volume. You don't need the instructions to work it out, unlike some other clocks I've had. It's been on for hours already today, but I haven't wound it up yet, so it must be running off sunlight. So far, I'm delighted with this, enough that if it's still performing this well after the summer, I expect I'll be gifting these as Christmas presents - they are handy for home, taking to the beach or in the garden but I think every car owner should have something like this in their car too.The only things I don't like about this (but I can live with them) are that the clock is not backlit & if you press the little light button it only stays lit up for 10 seconds, so you wouldn't be able to find it easily in the dark (but perhaps there is a way to have it stay backlit, I'll have to read the whole manual -it's only a page long- & see) & I find it hard to hold it comfortably to wind the charging handle without pressing all the buttons on the top, turning the torch on & off while doing so. I also wish it displayed the time while the radio was on.I haven't tried charging a mobile with it yet, but it came with 2 cables so I'll give that a go some time soon.I plan to update this review in 3 months to see how it's performed after the summer.

Useful gadget for camping
Works well. The torch is bright and lasts a while. The radio has good sound quality. Perfect for camping or zombie apocalypse. Its light and compact and easy to use. The clock works well and the radio comes on with the alarm. Great purchase.
