I read bragging reviews on this brand and this pencil quality, so of course, I had to try them out. After trying them out on one picture so far, I find that they are somewhat hard lead, but will color more darkly with more pressure. I always wondered why big fat pencils and crayons were given to little children with tiny hands, who could more easily manipulate a smaller diameter pencil or crayon, but as an older person, I am finding them a nice diameter to use with my less sensitive fingertips. My wish is that they had a bit softer lead, making it easier to lay down color. Perhaps that would decrease their usefulness for small children, however, since they might tend to press harder than we older folks. I can see pros and cons both ways. If the intent is for children to have pencils that won't break easily, and color well with lots of pressure, these would be great, long-lasting pencils for them. With the harder lead, you can layer and blend easily. The pencils are large length and diameter, so they will certainly last a long time. Great quality. Overall, I am impressed with these pencils.

These are the BEST colored pencils for kids that I have ever come across. I have 3 children. We have gone through many boxes of mediocre pencils. I first discovered these through Waldorf and haven't looked back. We have a set for each child at our house now. They are smooth, have vibrant colors, sharpen easily, are easy for littler hands to grip, and are simply a joy to draw with. Even my 14 year old still pulls his out from time to time for school projects.

they are expensive compared to other colored pencils but I chose these giant colored pencils hopes my kid doesn't break them. so far they are holding up well. the colors are nice. I really like the metal tin container. I would be nice to have their names of the color on the pencils instead of numbers. my kid asks me what color is this all the time!

These are nice and fat pencils and are harder to roll off a table. Great for kids with the extra thick leads. Colors go on smooooth and even for adults these are really nice and fun to color with. I would definitely recommend you place the order for a set and try them out. I think you'll be replacing the common colored pencils you've been buying with these once you do. I won't ever buy anything else again, that's how much I like these pencils.

These are soft and richly pigmented. If you like the soft texture of Derwent Coloursoft or Derwent Drawing pencils, you will love these. Very good price too! With so much lead, they will last a long time. Hint— Get the skin tones too!

These are easy to use for young artists. They have a thicker lead than others. The colors are vibrant. I have noticed that my daughter is not breaking the points, due to not using as much pressure to get the color she wants.

I love them but I think they might be a litlle less "creamy" than they were years ago. Well, nothing stays the same. They are still very beautiful and i recommend them.

I almost didn't order these because I think of fat pencils as being for small children, but my hands would start hurting when coloring in my adult coloring books, so I ordered them and Love them! The quality is amazing , easily compares to my other quality pencils. After falling in love with these I purchased Lyra Giant skin tones and their metallic sets and am equally as happy with them. My only issue is not enough colors but I supplement with my other pencils and they layer well with any pencil or marker I've used.

My granddaughter loves these pencil crayons - the colours are strong & the pencils are easy to work with.

Meine Tochter hatte bereits ähnliche Stifte im Federmäppchen und wir haben uns daher für diese Stifte entschieden.Durch die dickere Form liegen die Stifte bei kleinen Kindern gut in der Hand und sind vor allem für Kindergarten- und Grundschulkinder sehr gut geeignet.Gerade in dem Alter spitzen die Kinder ja ständig nach und da bringt die dickere Miene auch noch was - die Stifte überleben im Gegensatz zu allen anderen Stiften sogar ein ganzes Schuljahr.Außerdem waren die Farben in dieser Packung sehr schön, es war immer ein bisschen ein anderer Farbton als man normalerweise bekommt.Meine Tochter war begeistert.
