I highly recommend if you have birds nesting or sitting on your shutters. I was washing bird dirt off my porch shutters all the time. I put these on top of the shutters and it has finally deterred the birds. The birds need to rest or nest in the trees not on top of shutters or house lights. These really do work!! Very easy to apply. I am a widow & I was able to install them myself.

I purchased these on a whim because the decoy owl was backordered. The spikes reduced the droppings by 90%. I then received and tried the owl. The owl increased the droppings. I replace the owl with more spikes. The dropping problem was eliminated.

These spikes work much better than the plastic set I replaced. On the old, birds built nests right on them. They stay off of these completely.The strips are easy to break down into short units to fit the space in which they're being placed.The big downer is the assembly time. It's a long and tedious process to insert each pair of spikes into the strips and not as simple as the video suggests.

SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED! The product comes unassembled. Plan on spending about 1-1/2 hours pushing the stainless steel barbs through holes in the bases. The finished units should work. We have a Cowbird problem and they are flying against windows and relieving themselves in front French doors and window sills. Hopefully this will clear up the issue. Film at 11.

Work great at keeping the birds from nesting on underside of porch overhang.

I have a love/hate relationship with the birds right now. I have a 2 car carport that the birds seem to like to make nests on the upper rafters and then poop all over our cars. Well I tried the fake owls and snakes but did it deter them! of course not. Well I then tried hanging wind chimes and wind spinners on the back part of my carport to see if that will help. Nope! they were still flying up there and even trying to build a new nest. I then purchased these plastic spikes and thought this has to work, installed them on all the rafters and next morning the birds were sitting on top of them. So I bought these metal spikes and after spending over 45 minutes assembling them and my husband put them on top of the plastic spikes thinking, there is no way they will still go up there. Well this morning I come out and what do I see, the 2 birds are sitting up on the ledge of the beam and staring at me. Hopefully they will realize they can no longer nest but they are still taunting me of oh look, we can still sit up here. I think the birds have won!

No more bird nest on my garage door operators. I leave them open when working in the yard and birds will try to nest on top of them.
