I loooove making sourdough, but slicing artisan style with the extra crispy crust can be a nightmare and downright dangerous sometimes. This wonderful slicer is worth every penny I spent! Love it to pieces! Easy to clean, sticks perfectly to the counter with the suction cups, is attractive, and makes slicing bread an absolute breeze. With the adjustable size and easy to use knob, it's a sourdough lover's dream come true. Prior to buying I had attempted to slice my loaves with both an automatic serrated knife and a standard well-honed bread knife with zero luck. Not only did I nearly sever my finger several times when the knives slid off, but the slices were not even remotely consistent in depth. This beautiful unit provides perfectly sliced and uniform pieces. So glad I bought this, and I absolutely recommend this to anyone into the harder and more stout breads! You won't regret spending a few extra bucks, I promise.

We received our first one and it was broke and not stable. I really wanted it to work so we asked for a replacement. The second one came today, one piece wasn’t attached. The screws were uneven and not the same screws, then I went to pick it up off the counter and 2 of the 4 suction cups pulled right out of the bottom.

So I bought this for my wife because she bakes round sourdough as well as loaves of bread. This has changed her bread slices from inconsistent thickness to sliced perfection. It has suction cups on the bottom to hold it in place on the counter, and they work as they should. Cleaning is easy and the build quality is great. Will last for years to come!

Overall I’m glad I got this slicer. It works well, sturdy and makes clean cut slices. That being said… it does require maintenance sometimes on a daily use basis, for instance if you are slicing blueberry sourdough bread, it’s going to get messy, very messy and after you’ve cut a few loaves, you’re going to have to unscrew the blade and wash it dry it and put it back on before you try to slice another type of bread. I don’t mind doing this because if you do keep it maintained, it does a great job so much better than even attempting to try to slice sourdough bread by hand. I also oil the little gear behind the wheel when I take it apart for cleaning with mineral oil or any type of food safe oil and it has been serving me well so I would recommend it. I only took one star off because it does require maintenance. Also, I recommend that you get the anti-cut glove that you can wear on your left hand just to be extra safe as you slowly push the bread in. Overall review I like it and I recommended it with the above explanation.

The suction cups are absolutely terrible. They don't stick well, even if you wet them first. It is dangerous, as they will loosen as you are cutting bread, causing your hand holding the bread to jump forward into the blade. The screw used to attach the blade is too short and the blade loosens as you are cutting! I replaced it with a longer screw, and then it worked well. But I shouldn't have to fix poor design for this price.

I started making sourdough during COVID-19 and always struggled to make my cuts straight and consistent. I tried EVERYTHING: those bamboo slicing boxes, extra long bread knives, even an electric knife. I should have saved my money and bought this. There is a more expensive model but this one is great. I love it and can't believe I waited this long.I wish it had a guide for the finished slice to ease it out of the way but my thumb works fine. LOL I have an idea for a tweak.

I had to replace the first o e cause it was broken when I opened the box and went to use the second one and it broke in the same exact spot the other one was broken in. And of course it was past the return time

I actually LOVE the cutting ability of the blade. On the downside, the suction cups on the bottom are useless. I have tried on both granite and wood and it slides all over the place. I don't want to return it because it really does cut well, but I'm going to have to remove the suction cups and come up with a better way of securing it. I can't imagine any other cutter with suction cups secures any better than this does.
