works great
seems to be good quality. using it with the mac mini m4. obviously nothing works great with macos.... macos just has tons of compatibility issues with everything. that's just how it is. but this gets the job done. works great on my gaming PC as well.

Disappointing typing experience
HP 430 Programmable Wireless KeypadPros:Bluetooth – no adapter neededSize – decently compactCustomizable – very programmable and I can move around the keycapsCons:Typing Quality – I am surprised at how bad it feels. The switches and keycaps feel cheap and are very unsatisfying to type on.Sound – it sounds terrible. It is not super quiet, and it doesn’t have a pleasant keyboard sound either.I thought this keypad was going to be perfect. It took some effort to find because it is not a popular or recommended option. But once I found it, I thought this was the one. It checked all my boxes on paper of what I was looking for: Bluetooth, mechanical switches, fairly portable, and customizable. Unfortunately, I didn’t keep this number keypad because it feels and sound awful compared to a similarly priced option. I am sad this one didn’t work out.Context:I recently started a remote job that I need a number keypad, and my work laptop doesn’t have one. I couldn’t decide which one to get so I grabbed several different options to try. Things in order of importance to me: Bluetooth (not a 2.4 Ghz adapter because I want to keep the USB ports open), portable (I might have to travel with it), sound (not too loud in case I am working in a public space), typing quality (preferably mechanical switches), and customizable (hot swappable keycaps and switches and maybe programmable). I didn’t extensively use each: I assume all of them work so I tested most of them without connecting them.

Could Be Great! If not for a some Important Missing Functions
For whatever reason, the engineers thought it would be a good idea to EXCLUDE a "Left Mouse Click" as one of the functions that we could assign to the macro buttons. I like to use this function a lot on my other macro keypads as it relieves some of the carpal tunnel potential from my right hand. I really can't understand the thought process behind this oversight. What's worse is that it's almost impossible to contact anyone from HP about it.The other part that is frustrating is I can't seem to set a time delay or toggle on key presses like I can with the Logitech Gaming Software app for my other macro keypad. I like to use this function a lot when I try to automate certain tasks during work, and I was hoping I could rely on this number pad to replace my Logitech Gaming Pad when I'm on the go.Finally, even a simple keystroke such as ctrl + page up or ctrl + page down didn't work properly. I use this function to move between tabs in Excel.Unfortunately, I really like the design of the number pad... but the software is a huge letdown. It would be awesome if I could actually relay some suggestions to the engineering team. I can tell that the hardware team really dedicated a lot of time to making a great-looking device, but the software team dropped the ball. It doesn't seem like they actually had any office power users actually test the device.

Horrendous - cheap switches, bad keycaps, ununsable software
I was pleasantly surprised to see this. A mechanical programmable numpad with slim switches. It connected fine and seemed to register the keys. The switches are the worst I've ever encountered - they are worse than the bottom of the barrel no-name brand switches I've tried. They are scratchy and feel icky. You are better off with membrane switches.HP decided to use almost entirely flat keycaps, so you get no real feel for the keys and it's hard to avoid mistakes. I understand it's slim, but I've used slim keyboards with keycaps that have some curve and feel. Then comes the software. First it got detected as a virus by Norton. Norton can be aggressive, so I told it to ignore it and finally got it installed. It gave me several errors and freezes on installing but I got through it. Once installed, it makes me select the device - why can't it find it itself? I select the device, but it just takes me to the windows device settings. The device is already connected. I restart the app, the device still doesn't show. I disconnect the device from windows and reconnect through the app, still nothing. I have no intention of spending an hour with a support person who's forced to read through a script to try to resolve this poorly designed device. This has no redeeming qualities. The no-name brands here are far better.

Perfect for regularly used shortcuts, text type, application launch ETC.
Easy setup for a large variety shortcuts. I use it for all kinds of actions and it handles them easily. Comes with a nice assortment of printed key tops, 6 blank tops to make custom tops (but too small to place in a printer, and a key puller. I use this one for when I travel.ConsBeing picky I wish there was a link to a template to make printed custom keys. The "Printed" key tops are all icons with a legend but it's hard to link the item name with the icon IMO. I'll buy again If I need one.

Great
Great, especially for the price. I bought it to use with my HP laptop and the connection couldn't be more simple. Perfect for everyday use.
