Nice motor set for Technic building blocks.
I purchased this motor kit for my 14 year old son who is an avid building block builder. He had multiple technic building block sets that needed motors to function. This set looked like it would be exactly what he needed to make his builds come to life. This motor set is not only compatible with Lego but also with other building block sets as well. He was able to use it on a couple different sets when he wanted to change them up a bit. The included remote functions as it should and is easy to operate. The set comes with everything you need to bring your sets to life. This motor kit gets 5 stars from us!

Good motors
This building block motor set is compatible with the major brick manufacturer. These motors and remote control allow you to add mobility to your builds, or to augment a build for mobility. The motors function well, and are at least as powerful as the big name brand.

Motors work well, unit takes a lot of batteries, remote could use some work
Very excited to receive this unit because I had some Technic automobile sets that I wanted to motorize.Item is strangely packaged in a plastic ziptop bag, which I would have thought risked it being damaged. Luckily everything was just fine when received. Instructions for use are clear - make sure to run the motors off of the remote receiver, otherwise you do risk too high speed that may damage your building blocks or the gears!I know the battery box took 6 batteries, but did not expect to have to use an additional 3(!) for the remote. Seems like overkill, but 9 overall batteries for this unit is a lot.The battery box needs some help to fit into your build. That said, my main issue was with the dials on the remote. They were not as fluid as I had hoped and I have had many instances of rapid acceleration when not intended - sending some of my creations to their untimely doom. I wish the dials were smoother.Otherwise, I would say this is a good alternative at much less cost than the brand-name item.

entry level or supplemental pack (assuming you can manage the channels)
I had a test rig on a basic vehicle chassis powering independent rear wheels. At first the the power distribution between the two drives coming off the IR switch was uneven. An unplug/replug of all connections resolved this but I'm unsure of what the original cause was.Didn't see any channel compatibility with Technic branded IR. I did have one shared channel between this kit and a receiver switch from some random alt-brick robot kit from years ago.The brick connections were Technic compatible though. Mount interfaces all held friction with the axels I tried them with. Controller kinda meh but that's kinda par for the course with altbrick motor kits.

Cute little motors for legos
I ordered this as it always seemed like legos should be able to move. These motors (I am assuming) will help with this. I say 'assume' because I didn't realize that I needed specialized lego pieces for this to work. But let me start with the instructions--these were pretty terrible. The drawings were very small and were almost useless in terms of putting the pieces together. Luckily there are youtube videos out there to explain how it all goes together. For example, one of the photos in the instructions does not show the correct side. Anyway, once these were together the motors worked just fine. I then realized our lego set did not come with the specialized pieces we needed to do the connections. It would have been nice to state this in the description or better yet--have the kit come with a few of the connector pieces to try it out right away. But the motors worked fine, and the remote worked as well. The kit comes with an extender, a set of lights, and a neat switch (like a railroad switch).
