NOT compatible with the Hollyland Mars!!
VERY disappointed to find this isn’t compatible with the Hollyland M1 or Mars transmitters and receivers.I bought this because I needed a 7” transceiver/monitor. I own several of the Hollyland Mars transmitters/receivers and also the M1 (5” transceiver/monitor) which are all great, but the 5” monitor was not quite large enough for my needs. So I was super excited to see the release of their new 7” Pyro monitor/transceiver.Assuming it would be fully compatible with other Hollyland transmitters and receivers, I still decided to do some research just to be safe. After reading several of Hollyland articles and watching Hollyland’s videos on the Pyro 7 (at the time I purchased this was new and not many resources existed), I noticed they often mentioned the Mars and M1 in their explanations of the Pyro 7, and even suggested it was the “big brother” to the M1. Seemed like they were indeed compatible. I found nothing from Hollyland (or from other resources) stating anywhere that it wasn’t compatible with the Mars, or that it was a part of a new ecosystem that didn’t support other Hollyland transmitters and receivers.Well it turns out it isn’t compatible… so in order to have a 7” Hollyland monitor/receiver, you apparently have to ditch your entire Hollyland Mars system and invest in an entire new system!!! This seems like a pretty terrible idea, but what’s worse is that Hollyland doesn’t give any indication that this is the case.I love the Hollyland system I currently have, but am very disappointed that Hollyland wouldn’t make their products compatible with each other, or at the very least make sure to clearly include in their literature that the Pyro 7” isn’t compatible with its other transmitters/receivers. Hope they’ll improve their communication (or better yet, make them compatible!)This may be a good monitor/transceiver to someone who is buying an entire new system with new transmitters and receivers, but it’s definitely not for existing Mars owners looking to expand that system.
