Would give it five stars but poor quality control resulted in the need to do some filing before the globe and ecliptic circle would fit together.

This was a Christmas gift I bought and they loved it. Great quality fir price.

Just exactly what my husband wanted. Parts are moveable and the brass is nicely finished.

The brass and metal workmanship are beautiful. But the wood base is cheaply painted to look like wood. I would have preferred an all-metal base or a stained base made of quality wood.

This is good for display if you don't care about its representation of the actual armillary sphere or potentially using it, but the ecliptical ring that has the 12 zodiac signs is attached to the sphere improperly. The point where the ecliptical ring touches the tropic of cancer should start with cancer, and the point where it touches the tropic of capricorn should start with capricorn. On this model, they do not. It is also very difficult to separate the equinoctial colure from the base, which is necessary for setting the declination.
