Excellent sensor, I placed it on the back door to keep track of the kids when they go out.

Was easy to get connected to my SmartThings setup, and seems to work well on the two doors that I have placed them on to detect the door opening and closing.One issue is that I ordered two of these devices and one of them had a functioning CR2032 battery, while the other battery measured 2.8V and was non-functional. I had to immediately replace the battery this device was shipped with, as it was sent to me in a completely discharged state.I am primarily interested in how these do with respect to battery longevity. I had been using the original SmartThings door sensors for 8+ years and found that I was replacing the CR2032 batteries in these every few months. I am hoping that these sensors last more than a few months, ideally at least a year. I will update this review with my findings after a few months and will adjust my review rating based on that.For now, 4 stars overall with 1 taken off because one of the devices was shipped with a completely discharged battery.

I've had these for a while now and they continue to work every time. I stuck them on the door to a locked cabinet and every time the cabinet is opened, I receive a text. The size is right, the battery life, so far, is good. Definitely worth the cost.

The instructions were extremely poorly written, and pairing the device with Alexa was not possible following their incorrect instructions. I've set up full home wifi, with repeaters, also a wirless wifi home video and alarm system, and so I'm experienced in such tasks. The quality of the device and poor and flimsy mounting adhesive stick ons was also disappointing. I'm returning the unit, and taking the time to write this review and warn others.

I ordered the pack with 2 devices, but only one of them work. The other one paired, but it doesn't change state. It's suck in Closed and says device is unresponsive in Alexa app. I can see the red light coming on and off when I approximate the magnetic piece of the sensor.For the one that worked, I was able to do what I needed and it is nice that I don't need another hub. It just connects to eero router and it shows up in Alexa app.Unfortunately Alexa does not offer an option to take action based on the time the sensor is in a given state, like open for 2 minutes. I was able to work around this by creating the following routines:1) When contact sensor opens, set custom Alexa action "Remind from all devices in 2 minutes "Front door is open". I selected a Echo Flex in the garage as the "hear from" device, this way I don't hear her feedback for the reminder2) When contact sensor closes, set custom Alexa action "Cancel reminder "Front door is open", also set the Echo flex from garage as the "hear from"Now I have an alert if anyone forgets the door open. :-)

Paired with home assistant quickly. Easy to stick on doors. The little piece is magnetic so just sticks to my metal front door and garage door. Home assistant works with it great and it knows when door opened or closed so I can write all the automatons I want when its state changes.

Updating my review, or at least trying to, not sure what happened to my original 1 star review.I'm updating this to 3 stars, as the company had great customer support and shipped me a new set of units right away after reading my original review. One of them pair'd properly, and is working great, the other still has trouble pairing. Seems pairing is a bit of a crap shoot, but once you're past it, you're good. Again, most of the rating is the fact they had a great customer service, so thank you.
