Very good
As a developer of apps for phone and pads I am impressed by this little GPS device. Works like a dream and the customer service if the company is also second to none

The Skypro XGPS160 is a cracking and well-made bit of kit. I wanted to boost the 1ghz GPS signal on my Iphone 5 when using the IOS version of Harry''s LapTimer, on track. (Background data recording only)Initial set up and pairing, via Bluetooth, took about 30 seconds and when required, the SkyPro's power-on connection to the phone was immediate, with bright lights clearly indicating the device and satellite connection status. Satellites were found very quickly and retained an 'excellent' positional signal all day. (Download the free Skypro GPS app from the App Store for detailed real-time connection info) And as required, my GPS signal was boosted to 10ghz. Lasted a full day, as well, on a single USB charge.A tad expensive maybe but just worked, with no issues, so worth it in my opinion.

Poor accuracy
Very poor accuracy, the device reports a 1m accuracy but when you review tracks of driving the same circuit over and over repeated paths will be different by up to 20m, often you are not even marked as being on the road. Furthermore it generally ends up with the entire track being shifted from where it should be by 10-20m, so you get a track the right shape but in the wrong place. Replaced with the Garmin GLO which is spot on - The Garmin not only puts you on the road but on the right side of it as well.

A Good external bluetooth GPS receiver for WIFi only ipads
Great product works well with my 9.7-inch Apple iPad Pro (WiFi only) and co-pilot car sat nav software. I have also tested it on my windows 10 flip-top and once i added GPSComplete/GPSDirect additional software to solve compatibly issues with microsoft sensor/location API found in windows 10 it worked with Microsoft map. The only negative is that i have not been able to stop it dropping the connection with OSX El Capitan.Simple to set up works out of the box. Great little non-slip mat for mounting on clean smooth surfaces. Going forward I have only two concerns: support from the manufacturer does not get good reviews (but I have not had to test this so far) and it drains its battery quite quickly. Not a problem for in car use although a double usb cigarette charger would be an improvement on the single one provided but when walking in the mountains an external booster battery pack, solar charger and traditional magnetic compass & map are advised additions.

Does the job very well. I use it with Harry's Lap Timer on iPhone. So far it has saved me (or at least deferred) spending thousands on the dedicated kit that many drivers use.

Internal data logger will only output a 1Hz .KML file even though the device captures 10Hz
Update: Happy to say a new iphone app from Dual will now allow export / Email of 10hz .GPZ files with a max of 2 hours data loging.Internal data logger will only output a 1Hz .KML file even though the device captures 10Hz (10 GPS readings per second), so using it on it's own for motorsport is useless, it needs to be connected by bluetooth to a phone/tablet app to get the 10Hz.It works well with Track Addict for Android.
