Quality product and easy to use. Highly recommend.
We have a stainless fondue for meats and love it. This Swissmar fondue for cheese is excellent quality. I use the pot on my stove to melt and prepare the cheese and it easily transfers to the fondue pot holder for serving. The metal base of which it sits is sturdy - no chance of it tipping over. I placed the pot and holder on a trivet to safeguard my table just in case the burner got hot - but it did not. The porcelain covered cast iron is heavy which keeps the pots heated and cheese melted. The pot is very easy to clean. I used the recipe in the box and it is plenty for four people. Other recipes are on the internet if you want something different but the Swissmar recipe is very good. HINT: If you want to use the fondue pot right away upon receipt, make sure you buy the recommended fuel cans at the same time. None come with the pot. You will not be disappointed.

Quality and look
I have been very pleased with this set. Its cast iron and was perfect for fondue at Christmas. Very high quality. Make sure you buy the gel for the fire. It's not included.

Swiss approved!
I grew up in Switzerland and finally decided to purchase an authentic fondue pot. This is the kind I grew up using and it did not disappoint! The pot it’s self is heavy sturdy cast-iron with a lovely glaze that makes it super easy to clean even without soaking it first! This was the primary reason I wanted a new fondue pot: the old one was so difficult to clean even after soaking it overnight. The burner is a standard gel fuel burner that is super easy to use because it’s either on all the way or on low and you simply move the metal handle left or right to adjust the heat. You can either fill it with individual gel packages or else hand fill it with a bottle of gel: either option is super easy and simple to use. Some people have complained that the forks that come with the set are not traditional Swiss fondue forks, and while that is accurate, I actually really like these: the wooden handles feel good in your hand and the extra times on the fork make it easier to keep the bread on it while stirring.

Excellent Multi-type Fondue Set
Great coated cast iron pot in the traditional Swiss shape, so yes, handle gets hot! This fondue pot works great for cheese and chocolate as well as versatile enough for meats or other proteins, without the need of separate pots. Easy to clean.Fondue forks aren't color coded!Easy to use for any occasion.

Traditional Fondue Rig, Big and Sturdy
This is a very nice traditional fondue set. This is an open-flame version, so you’ve got to provide your own gel fuel; it’s not supplied.Note that you can get this set with a red pot, blue, or the traditional black. The ceramic inner coating for all of them is a standard off-white.The rechaud is a one-piece setup, plate, legs, and heating deck. The constituent pieces do not come apart. Be sure to check the bottom of your rechaud for burrs or rough spots. Mine had a pronounced metal burr on the bottom, detected only after it had left a 7” scratch on the kitchen table. Ouch. This quality control failure is the only reason I’m giving this product four stars instead of five. The burner setup is easy and simple, and the adjustable burner cover affixes nicely and tightly to the bottom cup. The sliding ring on the burner cover moves easily, making it easy to adjust the flame. And the cover puts the flame out very quickly. The pot is a nice and heavy cast iron, and the handle becomes warm but remains cool enough to handle during and after use. The pot heats quickly and evenly, and in my uses has not burned the pot contents. The ceramic coating in the pot allows it to be cleaned very easily. This was always the worst part of making fondue, the unholy cleanup. Not so with this set, as it cleans very easily and completely, with no scraping of burned-on gunk and minimal scrubbing.Documentation: You get a nicely done user’s manual, in English, French, and Spanish. It only provides two pages of information, though. The manual comes with clear annotated photos and instructions. It provides ample contact info, with US, Swiss, and Canadian addresses, as well as a URL and an email address. There is an additional care/use/washing card, and on the reverse is a single recipe for traditional, Swiss-style cheese fondue.Price: At approximately $100, this is not a cheap set. There are numerous sets cheaper than this. But the reason I purchased this set is that it is almost identical to the set I remember on the table in the restaurant in Gruyere, Switzerland when I had Swiss cheese fondue for the first time, a good 40 years ago. This is the real deal, authentic, right down to the traditional wrought-iron stylings of the rechaud. This set will last a long time. I believe this is a fair price for this set.Bottom line: If you want fondue from a traditional set, this is the one. It’s big, sturdy, and will last forever.

Best Cheese Fondue Pot
Swissmar truly is the best cheese fondue pot brand. I'm Swiss so I know what real fondue pots are supposed to look like and how they're supposed to function. You need to be able to cook the fondue on the stove then transfer the pot to the fondue burner; this pot works perfectly and looks great. Swissmar also includes a fondue recipe that isn't perfect but is great for fondue beginners. A tip I definitely recommend though is to buy the fondue fuel online too, it's the blue fondue gel; it's very hard to find in the average supermarket, and the one most commonly found is the kind you have to scoop out of a can which isn't as good and a total pain in the butt. There are a few irks that I feel I must list though:1. The pot handle looks different from the picture, it's not completely round, but shaped like a half-moon: the top is round, but the bottom is flat.2. The fondue forks included aren't really the typical fondue forks, they're fatter and have three prongs. (They are the ones pictured, though.)Still, don't let these turn you off. This is best, most traditional Swiss cheese fondue on the market at such a reasonable price. I'm a student so I was thinking about just buying a cheap fondue pot, but I'm glad I invested in a slightly pricier model. I'll have this for years!
