An Unforgettable Co-Op Adventure
Having thoroughly enjoyed Hazelight Studios' previous titles like "It Takes Two," I was eager to dive into their latest release, Split Fiction, and it did not disappoint.Pros:Innovative Co-Op Gameplay: The game brilliantly intertwines sci-fi and fantasy elements, offering a fresh perspective on cooperative play. Switching between the contrasting worlds of Mio and Zoe kept the experience engaging and dynamic. From riding dragons to engaging in dance battles with monkeys, the creativity knows no bounds. Stunning Visuals and Design: The alternating environments are visually captivating, with meticulous attention to detail that enhances immersion. The seamless blend of fantasy and sci-fi aesthetics is a testament to the developers' dedication.Compelling Narrative: The storyline, centered around two authors trapped within their own narratives, is both unique and thought-provoking. It adds depth to the gameplay, making each challenge feel purposeful.Friend's Pass Feature: The inclusion of a Friend's Pass allows players to invite friends to join the adventure for free, promoting inclusivity and shared experiences.Cons:Steep Learning Curve: Some puzzles and challenges can be quite demanding, requiring patience and collaboration. While this adds to the satisfaction of overcoming obstacles, it might be daunting for some players.Occasional Visual Clutter: During intense sequences, the screen can become visually busy, making it challenging to focus on immediate objectives. However, this is a minor issue in an otherwise stellar design. Conclusion:Split Fiction is a testament to Hazelight Studios' commitment to delivering innovative and immersive co-op experiences. Just WOW
The first game from the studio is my favorite one, but I have to say the leveling up their games have game after game is insane. After finishing the game my husband and I thought exactly, this is the studio finest work so far.First things first, the game It's funny as hell. The mechanics feel fresh and dynamic the entire game and it's impossible to get bored because you are always doing something new. Everything is so well design that you barely need to tell player 2 what to do, it's just intuitive, but I have to say we are senior players. So if anyone with less experience plays dont worry, the game does a magnificent job with simple but fun mechanics. The difficulty is well done and it's not easy or difficult, it's perfect, and doing it together is really rewarding. The amount of creativity the game has is amazing, feels like they have a bunch of ideas and wanted all of them inside, and it worls marvellous with the game theme. I don't want to say anything more because if you go without any media noise or detailed opinions you'll have it all.A great candidate for GOTY if not GOTY itself.

Game of the year for me
Although I loved the charm and character of it takes 2 which is at times is missing here, generally this takes that game and keeps and enhances all the good stuff and improves on it. It's amazing, funny , graphics are decent and you can tell the developers care about this niche genre they have created. Playing this (after it takes 2) with my son is just the most fun I have had playing video games. Team work makes the dream work! Some of the side games are also amazing and creative as well as lots of fun and laughs. One of these is a wizard type setting and somehow this little section is amazing fun and enchanting (take note hogwarts legacy this is how you do it)Game of the year for me.
