They are one of the more expensive modals of backup light bulb, and on the big side, but look great, and the on off switch for if you want to use them as handheld light source is really cool.They work just as advertised. If your power goes out you can still turn them off and on with you light switch at about 80% of normal brightness. They will also stay on in a power outage if you had them on at the time, vary handy if you are in the shower. Being able to turn on the lights in your bathroom in a power outage is just a great feeling.From the testing my friend and I have done you can use them in multi light fixtures too, as long you change all the light bulbs to backup light bulbs.I have read that some houses wiring may not be compatible with these kinds of light bulbs. So you may want to buy a cheaper one first to test that they will work in your home.

EDIT:I re-purchased this item a couple of weeks ago. This time I accidentally got the "Standard (New)" version, 2 pack. This new version comes with a switch with 3 color options: 2700K, 3000K and 5000K. The first two options are indistinguishable. The last color option looks the same as your usual 6500K light bulbs, and it's my new favorite color. Still, in battery mode this bulb will use a very warm color. I highly recommend you make sure to get this "Standard (New)" version, as it solves the only big gripe I had with the old version.Oh, and these were sent to Ecuador for free together with other items.***Original review of the old version***I got 4 of these because Ecuador is having regular scheduled blackouts due to the energy crisis.Pros:1) Unlike other brands that only last for 2-3 hours, these last for 5 hours. I tested this after fully charging them for 10 hours straight. I actually got bored of waiting for these to die, so I stopped the test around 5 hours. The brightness is pretty consistent while it's on battery mode.2) No gimmicks: There's a switch in case you want to turn them on without being in a socket. Other brands force you to use special gimmicks for this.3) These don't explode or break: If you check 1-star reviews for other brands, you'll find mentions of bulbs exploding and breaking. Not a single review of these GE bulbs mentions this.Cons:1) They only come in warm white: The light is quite yellow, probably around 3000K. Unfortunately GE does not produce them in 6500K white.2) They're noticeable dimmer while in battery mode: I guess this is why they last so long. Still, during a blackout this is enough for you to see where you're walking.3) They're often not in stock: I know this has nothing to do with the actual product, but for me it's a con. Quite often, they're only available from sellers that don't ship to my country. If you see them in stock, buy them.

Came in handy after we got hit by a tornado a few weeks ago. They were super easy to use with its easy on and off switch. You can walk around with them in your hand or just flip the switch on them while they are still screwed in. I did not notice any difference between the color or brightness when it was plugged in vs the battery. They light was left on for about ten hours or more and never dimmed. Battery lifespan is great. Looks like a regular bulb but it is plastic and very durable. We bought our bulbs a while back and they still worked wonderfully for us.

I live abroad and we have unpredictable and sometimes, even scheduled power cuts. I have these bulbs in our lamps so if it goes out at night, we don’t go into complete darkness. I have small kids so this helps a ton. They are automatic and simply recharge when the power comes on. I just plug these in and ignore them. My first set endured at least two years so they last a long time.Two notes:1. They are bigger and take up more space in the lamp. Be mindful of that. Might not fit some small table lamps.2. They dim a good amount when they operate on battery. They illuminate a space but not at that maximum brightness when powered by electricity.They work well and have a long run life so overall I am really pleased.

These are so darn cool. I had to much fun showing everyone I could light a light bulb without turning it on. Uncle Fester costume? Needed bulbs for a lamp I couldn’t plug in. These worked very well. Not sure about duration but they served the purpose for me.

Brought these light bulbs on 2022, installed them in our bathroom, and mostly forgot about them. Thought they were a little annoying because every now and again after turning the lights off, they would turn back on for about 30 seconds, before turning off.And then Monday we had another crazy storm hit work 80 mph winds. We lost power for 36 hours. Ugh. These bulbs were a life saver! Fully charged, we used them once it got dark and loved them. Super bright, way safer than candles, and although we were being cautious to try and save the charge, they didn't run out.I'm buying more of these for other light fixtures. I highly recommend this product!!

Living in Houston, these are great for when the power goes out during hurricane season. I put them in the bathrooms and in a few lamps in the house. They have already come in handy a few times. They don't shine as brightly as when plugged in, but it was nice to have light in the powder room when the power went out.
