Different, but good
I have three Tajima chalk boxes, they are very good but expensive. The lines stretch when pulled tight which is something you get accustomed. This box has a line that does not stretch, which is actually very nice. some reviewers do not like the thickness of the line. It's no thicker than the others and is advertised as a "bold "line. The hook is similar to Tajima lines, you get used to it because it does "hook" so don't get all OCD about a hook. Gear box works very well, it's smooth and fast on rewind. The Tajima needs their proprietary chalk to function as designed, Strait line chalk will mess it up as it's not fine enough. This may also be true with the Milwaukee, haven't used any other than the Milwaukee chalk, just a suspected caveat. I now have two Milwaukee chalk lines and have experienced no failures in the last couple of years, though you may want to re-tie the knot on the hook as the factory doesn't always do it well and with these gear driven, spring assisted boxes, retrieving the line from the inside involves small pieces that lend themselves to careful placement. Depending on your source, they are 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of the Tajima. All my other older chalk boxes are now tethered to plumb bobs, used rarely but a more efficient use for them.
