Fast, easy installation on 2001 Toyota Land Cruiser
Wow! Finally replaced my original antenna on 2001 Toyota Land Cruiser with this product. So easy, fast (less than 5 min), and looks great. Reception seems better than original antenna. Great product

Works great. Looks great.
The original antenna got bent in a car wash (my bad). Ordered this as a replacement. Took me less than 5 minutes to install. Looks great on my 2001 Lexus LX470.

It's ok (conversion kit)
I live in the Black Hills, some distance from radio stations. I just bought a 2000 Land Cruiser, (100 series) and it had a broken antenna. I had the option of replacing it with the normal one that would work the same, or the firm stubby one that in theory would last longer. After speaking with a guy in Wisconsin, at some length, I decided to go with the fixed stubby one. There was some question as to whether it would have decent reception. It arrived, I installed it, and the reception is... meh. But I can live with it.Here is some advice, though:There are plenty of youtube vids showing how to get the old one out and then you just drop in the sleeve thing, the original ring, tighten that outer ring dohicky, and then screw in the antenna. Once you get started, it makes sense. However, use a cloth (not a paper towel) between the pliers/vice grips (whatever you are using) and the ring. You'll need to be able to put some pressure on that outer ring but you don't want to mar it or the paint on your car. I didn't realize that the paper towel (folded up) was not protecting the paint. :/ It's not bad, I am ordering touch up paint, anyway. My vice grips were also tearing the plastic/rubber just below that ring. I moved the grips up to just on the ring. That saved some rubber/plastic tearing. But in the third picture you can see the damage I did.I sat in our driveway, top of a hill, and ran through the available stations. Not one was super clear. We have several other vehicles, so I know a few of those stations do come in clear, and MIGHT have with the electric replacement, but not with the conversion kit.I'll stick with the conversion kit because I don't want to deal with the possibility (probability) of the electric one breaking, either the cord or the physical antenna, as it obviously already had.Hope this helps. :)

1999 landcruiser direct swap, 1 min install time.
had a broken ant and didn't want a motorized one, i've actually done the taco whip mod on a lot of my other trucks and i regret ever spending the time or money on any of them. this is x10's easier, roughly half the cost and the only "drawback" is the motor on the stock ant running when you start the truck up or shut it down for a period of about 3-4 seconds. not a big deal in the slightest and could probably be remedied quickly with a snip of a wire and some electrical tape if it really bothers you that much.i literately installed mine in a car wash parking lot, i already had the broken mast removed at that point, so this just slipped right in, i also like i can still unscrew the actual ant from the mount when i go through car washes, i know it's highly unlikely to break but i do it anyways for peace of mind.

Very poor reception
I purchased this for over $70 but return window closed back in April 2023 so I cannot return it. I finally installed it last week and it has vedry very poor reception. I bought it to replace my power antenna which broke going thru a car wash. Distant stations I received with the power antenna I cannot get with this antenna. I would not recommend this to anyone. If I could return it for a refund I would but cannot so I am going to trash it and am out over $70. Am very dissappointed.

Antenna review
Bluetooth reception on cell phone cuts in and out. Frustrating. Works ok on radio signal but not as well as the original retractable antenna. Looks great though!
