Used it to find fault on srs system

I bought this OBD scanner to help me resolve a non starting issue with our 1999 SLK 230 R170I asked a question here if it worked with the SLK and had or saw 2 customer responses to say it did, but because they were from customers, I also went onto some suppliers sites and again got some positive feedback for using it with our SLK. First issue was that it needs a red 38pin iCarSoft adaptor which wasn't mentioned here, but luckily it was mentioned on a suppliers site.My main gripe, is that when my mechanic used his Launch OBD reader, it pulled through a lot of error codes which included a very important one that indicated a fault in the driver authorization system and probably the cause for the non start issue. The iCarsoft CR Pro did not pull this error code through and instead it only pulled a number of historical codes.I plan to take this up with iCarsoft but as I've used the scanner I doubt I will get my money backI think what I'm saying is, please DO NOT provide answers to questions unless you know the correct answer. £275 is a lot of money to spend on the wrong toolEdit - following this initial review iCarsoft worked with me and enabled the reader to function with our SLK and pick up the codes I had expected it to, so I have moved up to 4 stars. Excellent diagnostic tool dose every thing I wanted it to do

Great piece of kit, a must for any hobby mechanic.

I bought this product hoping to get feedback from the ABS module, unfortunately it did not perform this task and it also failed to show feedback from a number of modules on my Cayenne 955.I liaised with customer support in the USA, they tried four different software updates and then studied the log files after each attempt.Eventually they decided to advise me to return the product, as the product was over 1 month old it fell outside of the Amazon refund facility,the seller, mistakenly, advised me that I could not have a refund, which is contrary to the UK customer rights act, namely, if a product does not perform as per advertised, it is either “ inherently faulty “ or “ not as advertised “ .Sustuu ( the seller ) we’re not helpful at all, and had to be coerced all the way through the returns procedure.I will not buy from this seller again and continue to look for a different product that will perform the tasks I require but it is definitely not this product.ICarsoft uk have advised me that the same software on the CR Pro is also used on the POR V2.0 model, if that is correct that model will also fail to perform as advertised.

Good value for money!

I brought this as my original scanner (NextPeak) that I brought in the event I needed to troubleshoot an issue with my car but since I did not test it out when I first brought until I needed to troubleshoot and issue some two years later found that the scanner could not connect to my car's ECU. After researching other scanners I came across the iCarsoft CR Pro to use on my W213 AMG line 350 has I had a problem with a suspension Malfunction. What I learnt is that not all scanners scan for a lot of things for your call particularly anything to do with suspension issues which this model did. Promptly brought it and when delivered - updated it first then used it on my vehicle where it provided a DTC code for my suspension. The issue I had was that the suspension was not going up or down when I changed from the various driving modes from Comfort to Sport+ and one of the signs of suspension issue is if your car is sagging and drive handling would be precarious neither of which I was experiencing. After analysing the code and a few YouTube video later it seems might issue was down to a blown fuse in the engine bay. This potentially saved me 100's of £ which if I had not diagnosed this myself and relied on the trust of a garage I could have been faced with an hefty bill and to be ripped off. So for me it paid for itself straightaway.
