When I was a little girl, I LOVED beef jerky. I was just crazy for the stuff.For whatever reason, though, I fell away from eating it for a long time, moving on to other snacks. Then one day, yeas later, it struck me that I hadn't had beef jerky in a very long time. I tried a bag at random, and it was just awful: moist and sweet and nothing at all like what I remembered.Since then, I've tried various brands off and on, trying to find a jerky as good as the ones I used to love as a child. I kept striking out; they were all sweet and soft and chewy, just absolutely disgusting. I started to wonder if my tastes had changed since I was a child, and I just disliked jerky now.I stumbled across this jerky on Amazon the other day and decided to give it a try. And this is it. THIS is the style of jerky I loved so much as a kid. It's thin and dry and salty, with a hint of a peppery kick. It's so, SO good.Looking through the other reviews for this stuff, it looks like it's not my tastes that have changed, but the predominant style of jerky making. Well, everyone else can keep that moist, sweet garbage. Give me this kind anyday!My search for real jerky is finally over. I'll definitely be a repeat customer!

Hard Times is in a battle for my favorite jerky with But-ees. I love both. I have had all of the flavors that they currently offer. The original has good, strong flavor with a little bit of bite of spices. It is excellent. The black pepper is strong with some additional spice bite over the original. Teriyaki is good, but generally I don't like the sweetness of sweetness prior to the ceremony. I love the hot and spicy, which is typically the kind of flavor I usually seek out. Their meat is dry and tough, but most pieces are cut rather thin. Since it is not tender and chewy, this jerky's style makes it good and easy to chew a little, naw on the rest of the piece. Since I have multiple bags, it is hard for me to have the self-control and keep myself from blowing through them all in one day. This may end up being an expensive habit.

Lots of different companies around but this is the real deal , how jerky is supposed to be . Not rubbery like most of the main brands

I bought this variety pack of beef jerky for my husband for his stocking. Highly disappointed. The flavors weren’t horrible. I’ve had better and I’ve had worst.This jerky is the driest, toughest jerky we’ve ever had. I don’t even know what to compare it too. The sole of a shoe would have better texture. We aren’t picky either. We eat lots of jerky ranging in price. Kroger brand all the way up to Wagyu beef jerky. This one is the worst we’ve ever had.

I like my jerky dry, the way jerky is supposed to be. Most of the jerky nowadays is moist, too sweet and artificial looking. This is what jerky should be. I'm in love.

Paying $30 for 9oz of beef jerky should get premium quality free of mold. The style of jerky is bone dry so it's either improperly sealed or is cooked wrong.

While opinion is obviously subjective, I will comment on the fact that this is actual Jerky.Jerky is supposed to be dry and chewy. The stuff you get from Jack Links is not something I would call actual jerky. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy that too but Jerky is supposed to be dry and chewy which gives you the opportunity to really savor the flavor.This is actual Jerky. Its dry, chewy, and very tasty. At 30 dollars, it is kind of expensive for what you get when compared to meat in general, but that is typical for jerky and when compared to other quality jerky I don't find it to be expensive. Well worth it in my opinion.Each bag is easy to open and has a ziplock type seal which I find kind of pointless. Why? I like this jerky so much I just eat the entire bag. Don't give me that look. Protein is good for you.

I only got two packages instead of the four that I paid for. I think this is Amazon’s fault but who knows, really. No problems with the jerky itself. If you like the good, old fashioned, tough jerky that isn’t sweet, it doesn’t get much better than this.
