Great/flexible product for travel!
Great product. I travel to a part of the world that uses 700/800 GSM and this little product works wonderfully. As a matter of fact I’m writing this review using the device as my WIFI! The fact it’s unlocked and uses a sim makes it flexible for travel! The fact that the plug is a usb type allows you to use a power bank in times of power outages which is handy while traveling outside of the U.S!!

Fairly basic but reliable
After unboxing, I adjusted its "Monthly Data Plan" to "0" and "Auto Disconnected" unchecked. These options are necessary to avoid disconnecting the LTE signal overnight. This router has a built in DHCP server and support for up to 32 clients. I've heard that OpenWRT firmware can be installed to make more configurations options available, but I haven't tested this yet.Inside my house with "one bar" of phone service, the statistics page reports SNR between -8 to 0dB, weak but usable for 20Mbits download and upload with Mint mobile LTE and a wired Ethernet cable. Reported signal strength is the same without external antennas, but I haven't tested LTE speeds without them.Unfortunately the 2.4 WiFi is slow and a "speed test" shows just 10Mbps up/down through LTE. Its wired Ethernet ports are 100Mbps, effectively limited by their LTE4 connection so it's not a problem.A phone plugged into the RJ11 jack works fine. it has a dial-tone and rings for incoming calls. The device's built-in website reads and sends SMS, but it's very basic without a contact list or other features. With the adjusted data plan settings, it has remained connected to LTE for several days without any traffic. Now in normal operation, It has been working for several weeks without touching it.The device arrived speaking Spanish with an option hidden in the top right corner of the website to switch to English. Overall, it has been a nice inexpensive and basic backup service connection for me.

Five starssss
This modem was sent to Jamaica and it's being successfully used over a year now. I love it, can work with both Digicel and Flow providers there.

WARNING - Limited configuration and functionality, WOULD NOT BUY
Ordered 2024-09-21, $59.28, Router Alcatel Link Hub 4G LTE Unlocked Worldwide HH41NH -In the USA. Using a prepaid TMOBILE MVNO SIM with unlimited voice, text, data, I was able to to connect a POTS phone and make and receive phone calls, only odd thing was the ringer only rang at half the normal length as you would expect. It uses a micro sized SIM, no adapter included,The SIM slot on the devices is recessed so much that it's difficult to insert/eject without using some sort of tool. Using the corner another SIM card the same thickness works. There is a WAN/LAN2 port that will act as a gateway when connected to wired connection.I was never able to actually use cellular data, but I was able to see data usage when I checked with my provider. The place where you add a APN profile for your carrier is strange; there is no place to add in all the information as there would be on a smartphone, just some login credentials which are not normally needed or used.I was never able to connect to it's WIFI, even tried multiple devices (2 laptops, smartphone), not even for simply configuring the device.Contacted Alcatel technical support. They said it's "plug and play" and should "just work". There is no firmware update available (but sorely needed). The cellular antenna SMA ports are so far recessed, that you would have a difficult time using externally roof/eve mounted antennas using coax cables, and/or with directional yagi antennas.Only real positive thing it has is that it uses micro-usb for power, so you could use a power bankto power it during a power outage.Return for refund, as not operable.

very hard to configure
first the manual came in Spanish and Portuguese. so i found one online, but the manual is very very basic and does not explains how to configure the sim card settings, have watched every single youtube video in Spanish to try and figure it out, and finally did.took me 4 hours of frustration to make it work.it works and works well nowso unless you really knows what you are doing i will buy a product with a good English manual
