Very Good Product.
Very Happy with this product. I think this was a great value and the included products are all high quality. The feed and water bowls are a little on the large side if you are buying this with a hatchling or juvenile Bearded Dragon so I would recommend getting a smaller set and just set the ones included aside until the Beardie is larger. Not a big deal at all, the bowls are very good quality and will be needed when the Beardie is full size. I like the Combo Light and it also came with high quality bulbs. I would recommend you get a heat pad or noctural heat bulb if you live in a colder climate for nighttime heating but it is not crucial. Overall very happy with this product. I've been using the set up with a juvenile Beardie for about a month now so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Pictures can be deceiving
Don't get me wrong I love zoo med vivariums, I purchased a large one, 120 gallons and that's an expense in itself, but thats ok, it's for my baby, what I don't like is it shows it having the backdrop, which many of there vivariums come with, I've purchased many, what I did not like is this one does not come with the backdrop as shown in the photo, I'm sure it shows somewhere hidden in small print about the back drop but foolish me, now I have to spend another couple hundred dollors to add this, if I can even find the proper size, not so easy with a huge vivarium, if the vivarium is not going to come with the backdrop it should not be shown, only because like I said some of there vivariums come with the backdrop, my mistake now I can suck up an added cost, it is a really nice vivarium, zoo med products always ate

Came With a Lot of Great Stuff
This kit comes with a lot of good quality supplies for any bearded dragon habitat. It came with a 12 pound bag of sand (I prefer reptile carpet, but still nice to have extra substrate on hand), a combo deep dome dual lamp fixture with a basking bulb and Repti-Sun 10.0 UVB, a screen lid, samples of food, Repti-Vite, Repti-Calcium, a book on bearded dragons, a temp/humidity gauge, food and water dishes, and more. I bought this on sale too, and ended up saving a lot of money, compared to buying all of the equipment individually. I trust the ZooMed brand, and have used a lot of their products and tanks many times in the past, but never bought a kit before. I'm glad I did. The only reason why I rated it 4 stars instead of 5, is that it did not come with any decor. You have to purchase a background and decor separately. Other than that, I'm very happy with my purchase and so is my bearded dragon. I plan on upgrading him to a larger tank eventually, but for right now, this tank kit is perfect. One suggestion to new beardie owners: This kit is aimed for people just getting a bearded dragon, and most people buy young ones. Make sure you don't use sand as a substrate for baby and juvenile dragons. They can accidentally ingest it, leading to impaction and potential illness. Use paper towels or Repti-carpet as a substrate instead of sand when your dragon is young. I've always used Repti-carpet, and found it looks nicer and is easy to clean. You can save the sand this kit comes with for when your bearded dragon is an adult, if you wanted to use it. Just a tip!

The top is cool because instead of removing everything I can remove half ...
When I got this fourty gallon tank I was unsure maybe it would be to large at once but my dragon loves it. The space and everything with it will be for the adult hood but can use later when my dragon gets to that age. The top is cool because instead of removing everything I can remove half the lid. The light with the kit is also saving money for the bulbs and kit in one. Got me started can get you as well

unless you want an impacted beardie <they lick their environment> where the sand builds up in their system drying like concrete.
These kits can actually make for a very sick beardie. The lights are wrong. Coil and compact UVB lights can actually injure or blind your beardie. There is not enough UVB output for them to process calcium to make Vitamin D3...both of which are vital to prevent metabolic bone disease. Colored lights disturb sleep patterns and are not needed at night. The round temperature gauges can be off as much as 20 degrees causing the tank to be to hot causing burns, or to cold causing improper digestion. You need a temperature gun or a thermometer with a probe on the end so it can be placed directly on the basking spot to ensure a proper temp of 100 to 110 depending on the age of your beardie. The feeding pellets are ok for treats but beardies need 80% protein for the 1st year of their life for proper growth, this means live prey of crickets, roaches, hornworms, butter worms, caliworms. 20% of their diet should be greens and veggies <excluding kale and spinach as they bind calcium>. Very little in these kits are worth the money you spend on them. Sand is a big no no...unless you want an impacted beardie <they lick their environment> where the sand builds up in their system drying like concrete. Going to the bathroom with an impaction can cause their insides to come outside <prolapse>. Anything below a 40 gallon breeder tank will have to be replaced as beardies grow rapidly in their first year, and will quickly outgrow a smaller tank. Save your money and properly set up a habitat before you get your beardie.
