One of my best plush purchases of 2020!
I was so excited to hear that Pound Puppies were making a comeback for 2019/20! I've always loved Pound Puppies - when I was a little kid in the 90s, I had a few of the much smaller Pound Puppies plushies, and I continued collecting them as the toy franchise repeatedly changed hands/got rebooted throughout the 90s - 2000s! I also happened to find quite a few original 80s ones while traversing antique stores/flea markets. I just love dogs and I particularly never could say no to stuffed animals with sad, downtrodden expressions.I chose this Pound Puppy in particular (the white one with brown spots) because it reminded me of an 80s one I used to have that I loved. I love him! He has a soft, smooth fabric texture similar to an 80s Pound Puppy, he's stuffed a just-right amount which allows him to be sturdy yet still cuddly and floppy, and his collar even has a name tag that can be personalized (during the 80s, you could send a mail-away requesting a personalized Pound Puppy nametag, as well as an adoption certificate and a sheet of stickers, per archived commercials on YouTube)! By and large, these repro Pound Puppies are adorable and more or less identical to the 80s toys in terms of appearance....On a related note, the packaging housing the plush puppy is more or less the same as it was in the 80s as well! Included with each 17-inch Pound Puppy is a personalizable adoption certificate and stickers. I can't recommend these sweet retro Pound Puppies enough, whether you know a child who would love one, or if you grew up with them and want one for nostalgic reasons. :)

My childhood.
When I was a kid, my dad got my mom one of these as a gift and I stole it because I was like 5. I named it Fluffy and I took her everywhere with me to the point that the fabric wore off and it was not soft anymore. I still have Fluffy, she's what you'd expect from a stuffed animal that was taken everywhere by a child.Fast forward to almost 20 years later and me seeing this on Amazon. I knew what I had to do. I got it and instantly gave it to my mother, but with one rule, she must name her Fluffy. Fluffy lays between my parents' pillows and my mom adores it. I feel bad for stealing the first Fluffy, but I also adored it too much.

After all these years, a Pound Puppy - hallelujah!
As an 80s child, I was beyond excited to find a Pound Puppy for sale on Amazon. I couldn't believe it & the price certainly wasn't an obstacle in acquiring it. How wonderful to relive the joys of my youth without having to break the bank or invent a time machine. Rainbows came shooting out of my face when I ordered that thing. It arrived in authentic retro packaging, just like when I was a kid, with the adoption certificate, sheet of stickers in the box & heavy duty plastic on the outside to keep it safe during shipping & handling. At first glance, it seemed a bit smaller than what I remembered, but then I remembered that I was smaller the last time I saw one, so I'm sure that's a matter of perspective. Lol! It's the perfect size for a kid who'd want to fit the whole collection on his/her bed. They're just big enough to hug, carry around & snuggle with, at home or on the go. Enjoy!

Adorable and so much like the original
We bought this as a gift for a 4 year old who quickly fell in love with it and sleeps with it every night! My own children (4 and 6) have one each as well and they have gotten a lot of love and play. I actually still have my original Pound Puppy from 1986 and this looks and feels very, very similar. I was so pleased to see that since many of the "retro" toys I find for my kids are not the same quality they used to be. The Pound Puppies come in a box that looks like a dog house, which adds to the play. My kids loved the concept of the adoption certificate and naming the puppies. They quickly set up a Pet Adoption Center and a Veterinarian Office with their pretend play things. This is currently my go-to gift for preschoolers, and I would recommend it for kids ages 3-8...and parents who were born in the 1980's!

Who doesn't LOVE the 80's?
Seriously, this is one of the best purchases, I have made in a while! Why? Bc I treated myself! It wasn't for the house, or the kids, or the dog! This brought back so much nostalgia for the "good ol' days." Times when I was a carefree kid, with no troubles or stress! This comes with a birth certificate, so I actually named my dog Coco. And it has a page of stickers. Perfect! Perfect gift for that 80's baby in your life. I'm not sure if today's generation of kids will appreciate a plush animal that doesn't talk or do anything, but maybe younger kids, 4, 5,6 will love to snuggle up with a Pound Puppy. I know I do. I sleep with mine! I plan on adding more to my collection #everything80's

Great Cuddly TOY
I love this! I ordered the white one with spots and the poodle online, but i got the newborns at a store. These little cuties are so great for cuddling!! The bow on the poodle is adorble, and the 17 in size is perfect for cuddling. It is also has a great fit in Build A Bear Promise Pets clothing, so its fun to accessorize! The newborns are great if you cant fit your big, cuddly, pound puppy in your travel bag. The newborns are 7 in compared to the larger 17 in size, so great to fit in your backpack, purse, ect. I just love them, they are all adorable!!!!

Better product with all the nostalgia.
It looks the same as the one I owned in the 80’s, but with some improvements. The material is felt-like, more like a very short fur coat. Instead of a thread stitched in one spot of the foot to create the toe, there is stitching. The original design, the thread would fall off and/or break so that the foot would lose the appearance of having toes. The new design doesn’t have that problem. My youngest daughter loves this toy. I had one when I was her age, and it brings so many warm memories watching her enjoy this one.
