Great product! But do not attempt installing these unless you REALLY know what you're doing!
Very nice! I love having a set of joycons with a dpad, so I can play using a dpad regardless of whether I'm playing on the TV or in handheld mode.I purchased the black ones, and they look very nice with the Switch.BUT. A word of warning. These are NOT easy to install-- that is no fault of the product itself, it's just that the joycons are difficult little beasts to dissasemble/reassemble properly. Do NOT attempt this without a detailed guide. And take especially great care when reattaching the ZL/ZR triggers, as there is a very, very tiny internal button underneath them connected to a ribbon cable. This button is extremely easy to break if you force the ZL/ZR triggers back on too hard, or at the wrong angle. I broke this button in BOTH of my joycons despite being very careful. I did find replacement ZL/ZR ribbon cables (which include those tiny buttons), and have successfully fixed them, but please, remember to take your time putting those triggers back on. That, in my opinion, is by far the most difficult part of the process. So good luck, and be careful!

Know what you're getting into
Right off the bat I would recommend to the layman and expert alike, watch the YouTube video before buying these so you have an idea of what you're getting into. If the idea of completely disassembling your joycons makes you nervous then this might not be for you. I'm used to taking things apart and putting them back together but not so experienced with working with tiny electronic parts, having said that when you first get the shell off the joycons the task can seem daunting, but as long as you're careful, take your time and observe the video closely you should be fine. The screwdriver handle that's included seems more substantial than what's in the Amazon pictures but the actual triwing bit that fits into the handle leaves something to be desired. When using said bit be sure to apply adequate downward pressure on the screwdriver to ensure the teeth are engaging to avoid stripping the screws. Even having done that I still came close to stripping two or three screws, so buyer beware. Once you're past the shells the rest should be a tad easier as all internal screws are Phillips head. The quality of the shells are amazing. The internals fit everything identically to the originals, no modifying needed, nothing felt out of place. Even the original buttons all work with the new shells, and the new d-pad works great. The finish on the plastic seems almost identical to the original plastic and is very soft to the touch. Amazingly I didn't lose any screws but even if I had there are screws included in the kit, and the replacement Phillips head screws for the exterior are highly appreciated so I'll never have to mess with those annoying triwing screws ever again. Two things I didn't understand: 1. Why Nintendo didn't make joycons in a color that match the console. 2. Why there wasn't at least an option for joycons with a d-pad. Granted these are nitpicky issues but this solves both for me.

Best Joycon Shells I've Found
As the title says, these are the best I've quality that I've found so far. I tried numerous of the clear ones out there, all cracked within a week of installing them. These are extremely durable and feel like high quality plastic. The grip texture is awesome as well! I highly recommend these. They are well worth the price. The full D-pad is an added bonus.

Perfect Replacement
Great she’ll replacement for old joycons. Just make sure to have some videos on hand on how to take apart the controllers. But I love the look and feel.

Excellent
Was tricky due to small screws but must be patient. I kept the blue and red between the back buttons for style. Probably won’t replace again but worth the trouble. I’m happy!

Value for the money not so much
Great look took me about 2hrs to install. I went with the black shell kit and Chrome blue buttons. The video was helpful installation was straightforward but I do have an electrical background. The reason for the 4 star instead of a 5 is the value for the money. You should be able to choose your button color instead of sending generic black buttons with the shell. So I had to purchase the shell kit and spend another $15 just for buttons. The buttons cost almost as much as the Joycon shell kit.

Amazing Quality
The shell I purchased was of incredible quality. Not only was the plastic very pleasant to touch, but the product also cam with an assortment of extra, unnecessary but wildly appreciated additions. It comes with a set of screwdrivers and a set of extra screws and springs for every possible small piece you could lose. The extra screws and springs are fantastic if you find yourself losing stuff a lot. The screwdrivers prevent you from having to purchase your own kit. Additionally, some extra buttons come with the product. They seem to be of good quality with the actual labels engraved so they don't wear off. These are still attached together with a thin bit of plastic which can cause the L and R buttons to have a small and very noticeable spike where they have been detached. I'm sure you could just sand these down if they bug you. The overall quality of the product with all its extra pieces I didn't even know were included blew my expectations away. If you want to reshell your switch, go for one of these.

Terrible fit...
Thought it was great a first since I hate the segmented D-Pad. Works great when held in hand individually. But, it a loose fit on the Switch. So loose that it constantly loses contact with the unit. Going to have to disassemble again and put the original shells back on. I highly don't recommend these. And will be sending back for a refund soon. I'm very disappointed.
