Brilliant bit of kit
Like many, I stick to one brand of tool simply because of interchangeable batteries. So I can't compare this to other brands, but otherwise- wow, it's fab!I had a table saw, which quite frankly scared me. I also had an old, wired circular saw, which was inconvenient to just grab and use. But this tool is just perfect. With a cutting depth of 40mm it's enough for almost everything I do. It cuts through hard wood with ease, and when using a separate guide clamped to the wood cuts perfectly straight. The soft start/stop takes away the shock each time you press the button, and adjusting the height and angle of the cut is very straightforward. Being cordless I can use it anywhere without having to stretch wires across the workshop. So whilst it isn't cheap, it is worth every penny.

Excellent saw
Nice ergonomics, can use one- or two-handed. I use it with a 5Ah battery, and it gets me a decent stretch. I've also used with a 2Ah battery, which is a bit feeble for this saw. Good blade supplied, cuts through nail embedded wood well. Easy to adjust depth of cut. Let it run up to full speed before starting your cut. I use it to chop up pallets, and it is the best tool for this. It stalls out and doesn't kick back hard, compared to a larger corded circular saw, so it's much safer (but it's still a hazardous tool, so take care). The blade guard is plastic, but is plenty robust enough. I like being able to see the blade, as I'm right handed; a notch on the sole plate shows you the cut line. The only slight negative (and I mean totally minor) is the storage of the Allen key on the base of the saw. It's not very secure, and I lost the key (no big deal, it's just a combo tool for blade change and adjusting the fence). Fortunately I found it again. Some blu-tak, or a small magnet may help. Or just remove and store separately.I would definitely buy again, no hesitation. I would also take a look at the 136mm Makita saw, which has the advantage of a slightly deeper depth of cut, which can help with chopping up cross members on pallets, and cutting Xx2 construction timber.

18 months later I’ve found it an Excellent design, so convenient.
Used it for over 18 months now, eg to chuck in the back of the car and take to a builders merchant to rough size long timber to fit the car, chop up 8x4 sheets of ply. In fact it’s a go to rather than my old but perfect condition elu 190mm circular saw.The blades are so cheap so no excuse not to have a sharp blade in place and so quick to change.Really good product thoroughly recommended.

The new updated trim saw very nice
Had one of these trim saws as a combine kit with a 14.4 some 18 years ago, they were a real tool. Around 7 of us used to board up Oxford Street in the early hours before any protests. We could cut through 19mm ply board in seconds & board up shops in minutes. Was a stunning tool for out of hours for fast board up & emergency work, I would also use the trim saw for undertaking splice repairs to timber door frames, such a light easy tool in skilled hands. With Dewalt upgrading their tools with the lithium batteries & brushless kits,I have been upgrading all my kit over the last few years as I’ve always stated for years Dewalt is the best on the market. Has NEVER let me down & now more work just for myself nowadays at a calmer pace I’m loving the new kit & this is a beautiful tool, slightly different & slightly heavier than its predecessor. It is a little gem & I could not recommend highly enough!!

Exceeded expectations - very useful and easy to handle
Brilliant tool and so pleased I bought it. Made easy work of cutting up large sheet material (11-18mm ply, osb) and even thicker softwood lengths and fence boards into required size. The saw is much easier to handle and use than a full size circular saw, with very little 'kick' compared to my large wired circular. The very comfortable handle that allows flexibility in use and a good guard system and array of adjustments make it very flexible. Only limitation is the thickness of the material that it can cope with, but for many building / DIY tasks this will be the perfect solution.

Very good saw
This is a great product, robust, easy to use and feels like it will last. However, one negative, the vacuum extension, which is rubbish. Doesn't stay on, fit is too loose and over time, won't go on at all. And, it doesn't fit standard vacuums, Karchers etc. which is crazy. Such a small cheap part of the whole package. Very annoying because the dust goes everywhere. Will have to look for my own fix, which you shouldn't have to with a make like this.
