Plug and play on Windows 11
I use this cable on Windows 11 with QSC+ and it is fantastic. It was recognised without the need for a driver and I can control all of my DMX lights from it using the free QSC application. It has opened up a whole new world of lighting for me and my band, so I am very happy with the product. The photo shows the cable being used to control an ADJ VPAR light over USB with a Windows 11 laptop.UPDATE: I used this cable for about 3 months and have added some photos showing what we have achieved with it in terms of a light show. I have also discovered its limitations. The cable worked great with up to 5 lighting fixtures (8 lighting ‘heads’). Adding more than this caused lights to randomly flicker and sometimes switch off (often requiring a power reset to work again). I’ve now upgraded to an Entec DMX Pro USB interface which was expensive but works much better. In summary this is a great starter cable to begin your DMX journey - exceptional value for money but be aware that it won’t control much more than about 4 fixtures.PS I can confirm it works with Linux Fedora as well as Windows

It works with Windows 10!
I had an older version of this type of USB to DMX adaptor / interface which worked with Windows XP but for Windows 10 needed a complicated manual installation and to disable the protection. This one worked straight away so presumably the drivers were installed. It is nicely made and does the job well. It is supplied with a mini DVD disc with software and drivers. The only slight issue I have (in common with many products these days) is the brightness of the LED indicators. Far too bright! In a situation where you might be running a lighting rig in a darkened theatre it would probably illuminate the whole auditorium! Fairly easy to fix though with some tape or lighting filter (gel) stuck over the top of the LED. At the price it is really good value.

Fiddly to get the software to recognise the device
This cable is great value. Nice and long and does what it is supposed to do. I have windows 10 which installed the drivers automatically but I had to change to a different usb port on my laptop to get the software to recognise the device. I restarted windows a few times and started the software a couple of times too. Once this was recognised, it with every time now. Great piece of kit for the price

Item was defective
Fixtures seemed to be receiving random sporadic signals; replaced this cable with another brand and everything is working perfectly. It was picked up immediately by QLC+ on a Mac so not a driver issue, seemed to be something beyond the USB.

Great to use with QLC+
Great and convenient adapter to use with lights and be able to control them with software like QLC+. There is a activity light on the casing to show when there is DMX data being sent. Just plug and play. The only thing is as its 3 Pin it may need converting to 5 pin lights and I'd mark the cable to make sure someone doesn't accidently plug it in to a audio device by accident.

Drivers
Let's face it, how many people have a laptop with a CD drive? Not me and I doubt many other people out there. To find the drivers online do a web search for "FDTI D2xx drivers". This should get you to the FDTI D2xx driver page. On the right hand side of that page you should find a link for a Windows executable file hidden in some text. Click and install and your laptop should now see the DMX interface.

Works with lightkey and soundswitch
Works really well, open DMX support, works just like a euro lite pro.. :)

Finally an adapter that works
Got this for just slightly more money than a chinese one, but this actually works!Tried it with two ways:- Linux (Raspberry Pi) - install Open Lighting Project, choose FTDI USB DMX driver, works perfectly- Windows: FreeStyler X2, add it as "JMS USB2DMX" and it works.I couldn't try the CD as I have no CD reader available, so there might be some drivers there you might need. One thing is that the LED output flickers every few seconds on Windows with my test RGB lamp but this didn't happen on the Raspberry Pi so it's probably some software issue I need to figure out still.
