Very good Drill
I bought this to replace the previous HP331DZ model which I broke. This newer version has many improvements. It is slightly shorter and slightly lighter. The balance in the hand feels better and the function control rings are easier to use. There is also much less axial movement on the chuck shaft when not in the hammer mode which is a really good improvement. In this 12v class of drills with brushed motors this really is a very good drill and has some punch. However it is not the most powerful of 12 volt drills and I can see how many will demand the maximum out of it and could over heat the motor. If you need more torque there is a Makita HP332 model which is brushless and has more power, however this one is much cheaper. Positives are professional quality, ergonomic design, for its size it has good power and chuck is very good quality and easy to use. Down side is not the most powerful 12 volt drill I have used but is in this size/weight, replacement or extra batteries can be expensive. It is a bit front heavy when sitting upright on the battery but it is OK.Swings and roundabouts. The plastic chuck is good for not damaging surfaces but metal would be much tougher, however this chuck does have metal at the front where it matters most.I really do like it.

Great drill and great amazon support - as usual
purchased from Amazon resales, motor and electronics 100% runs brand new, had some issue with chuck but customer service resolved the issue for me. Overall this light weight drill is great choice for confined areas & easy to carry.Do not expect 18v cordless power which is heavy and bulky

Nice drill at great price - excellent amazon customer support
Received a decent drill from warehouse - works great! the belt clip with the pack was for 18v - which sits a wee bit longer than the batteries but can't complain as Amazon support quickly helped to rectify the issue in not time!
