I had some time off from work and have a TV that only has HDMI, which makes playing all of my older game consoles a bit more challenging. I had planned on getting the Pound adapter since it didn't have a built in HDMI connector. I figured using the HDMI cable that is used for my other consoles would be easier to use than trying to get to the other HDMI ports on the back of the TV. Unfortunately, the Pound adapter wasn't available at the time, so I looked at this one with slight hesitation.It arrived in time, and works as advertised. I have not tried using it without the power adapter, even though they do claim that it often is not necessary. I also did not use the HDMI cable that ships with it. I saw many reviews complain about its quality, and as mentioned above, I already have an HDMI cable plugged in for other consoles that was easier to use.I haven't used this extensively, but it worked flawlessly for me when I used it, and the picture quality is great. I don't have the world's fanciest TV, and also have realistic expectations. The build quality does feel a bit cheap. There isn't much heft to the thing, and it feels like a hollow, cheap adapter, but I'm pretty easy on things, and don't imagine there will be any issues with it.

Sound quality and picture quality are TOP tier!! I've never seen her (xbox) look and sound this good! Don't waste your time with others. (I got an AV-to-HDMI adapter the first time and there were visible lines and toned down colors on the screen, not to mention the sound was horrible. I thought it was a huge upgrade from simply AV, so i dealt with it.) I accidentally bought a new one (this exact product) because i forgot i had gotten the cheap one lol. So it all worked out, and i'm excited to play all the old greats, the difference is A+ !!

I have an old xbox (original style), and we got a new TV that only has HDMI hookups... so I eventually ordered this and handed this box to my 8-year-old. It took the kids a bit to get everything hooked up and working, but I don't think they had any trouble figuring this adapter out. Exactly what I needed and would buy again.

We have a 1080P TV and a original Xbox with a HD. It requires ac power that it comes with. The HDMI cable is cheap, advice is get a better one. Hence 4 stars not 5. The price is not bad, for around 30.00 it does what many others fail to do. Thats produce a solid picture. And this does. Its crisp and nice color. There is no lag of any kind.The unit is cheap plastic so is the switch so gentle use is highly suggested.We just plugged it in, turned on the game and that was it. No issues of any kind.It actually allows widescreen play which is nice.If you are looking for something that will work, it does.Is it perfect, no. But does what it says it will do.

Plugged it in and we were up and going. Our new TV doesn’t have any inputs other than HDMI which was an issue for all of our older gen consoles like the original Xbox. We plugged this in, and it was detected immediately, allowing us to set widescreen ratios and HD resolutions in the console settings.

This thing is better than I expected it to be, alot of people were saying that cheap cables would cause issue or come up as composite and not component but this cable seems to be component as I can change the video settings (480 and 720 on and off) and is a noticeable better quality than the stock composite cables.

Makes you able to put the older Xbox on these new tvs. Works well and I’m happy I can get rid of the fat back tv and play it on my normal tv now.

Does what it's supposed to do, but it does produce noticeable noise, especially in single color backgrounds and there's nothing you can do about it.
