Practically an heirloom
Mine lasted just over 11 years. It still works, just a bit stained. I will keep as a backup as I just ordered another. I use mine almost every other day. From heating up hash browns to baking cookies….it beats wasting aluminum foil or parchment paper.

Pure Baking Magic
The answer to your question is yes.You do need this. This is 7 7/8" x 10 13/16" of pure magic. I'm a lazy, busy college student, and this magical little device saves me time. I put my 88 cent (on sale) mini pizzas on this bad boy and they cook ever so perfectly in my toaster oven. When cooked on this little bit of heaven, my cheap pizzas almost don't taste like cardboard! Add some ranch and hot sauce, and you get a cheap quick meal!Clean up is super easy. I love cleaning racks, but not oven racks... Because I think it's disgusting to cook on a rack more than once without cleaning it, this Silpat is a gift from the gods. After using it, just pull it out (after it cools, I tried pulling it out hot, and it was hot, ouch) and rinse it off and use a bit of soap to get the grease or whatever off it. Cleans up nice and is ready for use again.Silpat is made in France, where it is legal to use pure unicorn blood in the manufacturing of magical goods, which I assume is why this product is so fantastic. Now don't you think for one second that I like France, because I don't. I like my woman like I like my fast food burgers, free of hair once you pull the buns apart.Even though I am biased against France, this French product is the next best French thing since French Fries.Seriously though, don't pull it out of the oven when it's hot, even if you've been drinking, it will still burn you...

No stick solution for Cuisinart Air Fryer
The Silpat is great for keeping food like Skinnytaste bagels and bagel bites from sticking to the tray in my air fryer and it fits perfectly! I tried everything, spraying the tray with oil, using foil, and using parchment paper. Foil and parchment paper worked, but using the Silpat is better because I'm not throwing foil and parchment paper away. The Silpat cleans up with warm water and a bit of dish soap. I let it dry on a dish drying mat after washing. I was glad to see that Made in France is clearly marked so I know this is the real thing and not some knock-off that won't perform over time. I've also used the Silpat with chicken wings with great success.

Doesn’t fit a quarter sheet pan
This is a normal Silpat mat, so the quality of it is good. Only problem is that it doesn’t fit my toaster oven. I have a Breville Smart Oven and use a quarter sheet USA Pan as the tray for it and it’s about an inch too short. If you have a smaller toaster oven pan then I recommend this product. But if you use a quarter sheet as your toaster oven pan like I do the. You’ll want to get a different size

Very useful, great performance
On the cardboard tube it said this particular mat is heat resistant up to 260C/500F, which is ideal for my bread baking uses. Using the silpat allows me to stop using parchment paper when I make my sourdough bread, and I just need to wipe the flour off afterwards, no washing necessary. This also fits my Nordic Ware quarter sheet pan perfectly for when I bake other things, so no need to fiddle around with cutting paper to size. The only thing to watch out for is when storing it, make sure it doesn't get squashed or folded. That happened to my first silpat accidentally, and it ended up cracking, exposing the insides which made it unsafe for use and it had to be thrown out. Now I store them flat inside paper envelopes and stack my baking trays on top of them so nothing sharp can gouge the surface.

What a difference with tofu
If you bake tofu, you know how tough it can be to remove the pieces from a sheet, particularly if you're trying not to use oil, or if you're wary of non-stick surfaces. This was my first time with a silicone mat of any kind, for any purpose, and already I've decided to use this one, always, for tofu. It added crispiness, with no oil, and release was a snap. Clean-up was a simple rinse and wipe dry. I like the durable storage box, too, so the small sheet won't get lost in a drawer or cabinet.

Works well and fits smaller toaster oven
Perfectly fit my toaster oven, unlike my larger ones. I've only used it once but my rating Is based on my older, larger Silpats I've had for years. E.g., I base my "Durability" rating on my older Silpats (which were too big to fit my toaster oven). First batch of parmesan chips came out just fine! Nope - I didn't take any pictures but the pics online are just fine. Also liked the fact I could have it delivered to my local Whole Foods market in Metuchen, NJ.All's well

Cracked after one use
Cracked after one use. I can only imagine what kind of hoops Amazon is going to make me jump through even though it says FREE returns. What a joke. Use Wal-Mart, they send a Fed-Ex / UPS person to your home for free pick-up. Amazon is going in the wrong direction and Wal-Mart is taking their customers.
