Comark RFT2AK Refrigerator/Freezer Thermometer Stainless Steel Construction, Grey

I purchased this item to keep an eye on my refrigerator temperatures and ensure that it was set on the right cold setting to keep food safe. Prior to use I would suggest performing a ice bath calibration to ensure the thermometer is accurate and write the transfer function or temperature offset on the stainless steel base for reference (a sharpie works fine and can be removed with IPA). The thermometer that I received read 2 degrees F higher than the actual temperature, which is acceptable and at the normal limit of the products stated accuracy.In order to perform an ice bath calibration fill a bowl with ice, add water to saturate the ice so that there is no air space between the ice cubes, allow it to rest for a few minutes to get to equilibrium, add the thermometer to the ice bath and maximize the contact area between the back of the housing and the ice bath by nestling it down on the ice, wait 15-20 minutes or so in order for it to reach equilibrium, then take a reading from the thermometer. It should read exactly 32 F, any difference would describe the calibration offset.

I bought this to replace an electronic thermometer in one of my freezers. This works much better. I bought a second one for the other freezer.

This thermometer is inexpensive and accurate.

I have two thermometers in my fridge/freezer and bought these for my daughter. They can sit on the shelf or hang from the wired shelves. I tested them by putting them in my refrigerator and comparing them to my two that were already in there. I checked them after leaving them in there a few days (two in fridge, two in freezer) and they were each reading close to the same temps, so I call that good.

I never realized that I kept my fridge temp up slightly higher than I should. This is perfect because it tell you where the temp should be and if you’re in the unsafe spoilage temp. Very easy to read.

I believe this thermometer is quite accurate. I found it helpful to know a more exact temperature in my freezer and refrigerator.
