USED NOT NEW, Manufactured in NOV 2008, NOT EVEN DG-16DS-09C Version. See the Pictures
This is not a new unit. Manufactured in 2008, warranty seal is broken, visible scratches and dust.Model DG-16D2S not DG-16D2S(-09C). One of the plastic studs chipped.The only new thing I received was the label saying it was "new" and "made in china..."

Great for a replacement components, On time, and components worked!
The problem with my machine, No disks would play. So I did my research so knew it was the optical drive AND that I needed to keep my own circuit board within my optical drive (tricky).With this drive, I was able to remove the optical drive part from this drive and place it in mine and I am off and running with all of my games again - $40 was worth it than needing to buy a brand new system or even a used one - Whew.. crisis diverted.As others mentioned AND ALSO STATED IN THE DESCRIPTION, it is not brand new, it was scuffed, and even had a broken leg (but it is going into a machine so no one will see it and I used my own case - so all was well).

Did not work – different board
I purchased this item to replace a failed Lite-On DVD drive from my 2008 Xbox 360. The drive they sent was made in 2012 and had a different board, so I couldn't solder the old board into this unit. I ended up returning the unit.

Revision- Works great!
Despite this drive being correct for my Xbox 360, initially it would not read any discs. I was unaware that the daughter-card from the ORIGINAL optical drive MUST be swapped for the daughter-card in the replacement. There IS soldering involved but it is pretty basic/easy. Once done the replacement drive has so far worked on ALL discs I have tried (20+ discs, 15 of which would no longer read with the old optical drive).

Had to switch out the products main board to get it to start working . But even after switching the board it would only read some of my cd’s

Bought this to replace the one already in my Xbox and it only let's me watch movies can't play any of the disk games only downloaded ones
