Hero Pet Microchip Reader, Bluetooth, Includes Case and Test Chip

This scanner is WONDERFUL! Well made, well designed, and very easy to use. I bought another, less expensive, China-made scanner, that had decent reviews and said it read all chips, including AVID chips, but it did not work at all, straight out of the box. I searched again and found HERO. It arrived yesterday, and I was able to read the chips in each of my four animals. My eldest dog has the AVID chip, and not all scanners will read this. The directions for the HERO are flawless and very easy to follow. I love that it has a Bluetooth feature. So glad I have this scanner. It's quality is top notch, and it comes in a nice zippered carrying case which makes storage super easy. **Definitely Recommend**

I love this scanner! Works well, seems to work everytime. The beeper is not loud enough for me but I do have hearing loss. The only trouble I find is that I cannot find more rechargeable batteries with a USB port. I would like to have a spare. I would have purchased a Hero pocket reader to fit in my purse but wasn't sure if it would be the same quality.

This microchip reader is great. Easy to use and to read. I bought a couple of these as I like them and use them often. Have also used a lot and the battery lasts a super long time!!!

With running a boxer rescue we have to have a scanner that is going to be ready at any time --we love our Hero! It is durable and is ready to scan immediately when powered on. It reads chips quickly and no noise to scare the dogs. We will never purchase any other scanner!

I was a bit skeptical when I first bought this product. This was mostly because the microchip reader I was told to buy was an industrial, however, that one was sold out at the time, so I purchased this one.I opened the box, put in the battery, and immediately scanned my animals. It worked for microchips over 14 years of age and as little as a few weeks. I further confirmed this when I went to the municipal shelter. It works fast and accurately.I am confident that it will work on almost all, if not all chips out there.I would recommend this scanner if you want an all-around good product/good value!

It is easy to use for scanning, and it accurately picked up my own two cats chips I tested it with. I use it when stray cats try to live in my yard so I can try to figure out who owns them, and get them returned. One thing I wish they would improve is it needs better instructions on how to use it with your phone and bluetooth, I had to search in these reviews q & A's and review comments to find out (works with my iphone's Notes app that comes with the phone, the chip # will go to the phone when you scan, as long as you have the phone in your pocket or nearby. )

We travelled with our dog from US to Czech Republic and back and he has a non-ISO chip and we didn’t want to risk it. We tested it many times and it works great. But we never got it out of the bag and no one asked about our dog’s microchip in the airports or anywhere else. I think it’s a bit pricey for what it does though.

This product detects a dog's chip very quickly. You don't have to spend extra time waving a cheap scanner around a shelter dog's head and neck causing stress. Turn it on, press the button the the detect beep is immediate.Also, you won't need to take out your phone to capture a photo of the ID because it will not disappear before you can write it down and verify it. You have time to do your work with the display on and easily readable (undimmed)! WELL DONE! Other scanners dime the display in X seconds which makes it quite useless.The scan initiate button is located where you are not likely to bump is and loose the ID number.The Hero microchip scanner is well designed. You notice that as soon as you pick it up.
