Gave this 5 stars due to being pilot arc, tax free, and free shipping. Price is fair for the features. Now onto the details. This specific unit is a 30 AMP INPUT @ 220 volts.( NOT 50 AMP INPUT !! ) I took pictures for those who may need to know this as it does not say in the ad and customer service never answered my question specifically !. ALSO in the manual it says it's rated at 20 amps 220 volts-( this is different than what the machine label says, look at pics- the plug WILL NOT FIT a 20 amp 220 volt twist lock outlet ) It comes with an L6-30P three prong plug attached, great. I took it apart and the wires appear to be 10 gauge which is indeed rated for 30 amps. I used a piece of 12 gauge THHN wire placed next to the plug to show clearly the thickness difference of the wires. So it is indeed apparently able to handle 30 amps, I had to TIGHTEN the ground screw and two hot lead screws after taking the plug apart DO THIS right away save yourself issues. I have included pics of THIS units label showing the power requirements CHECK YOUR PARTICULAR UNIT when you get it as it may differ from this one. Have not used it yet but will post an update when I do. The yellow with green stripe is GROUND, the blue wire seems to be the hot lead ( if hooking it up to 115 volts ) as it connects to the wider of the two hot lead prongs on this L6-30P twist lock three prong plug, the brown is the other hot lead connected to the thinner of the two hot lead prongs. ( this MAY be your neutral when connected to 115 volts, ) IF NOT SURE hire a licensed electrician to look at it for you !UPDATE: Added pics of the wiring for the new 30 amp twist lock outlet coming from the main panel. 10 gauge THHN/THWN copper wire, two hot legs blk/red and one green ground wire. As you can see I pigtailed the green wire to the metal junction box using the correct green ground screw PER National Electrical Code for safety, as well as used grey bushings at the junction box and the main panel entrance of the EMT conduit ends, again PER NEC code for safety to prevent chaffing of the wires. Had some 10 gauge extension cord so cut off the 20 amp 115v plus and wired in 250v 30 amp twist lock plugs, worked great. Your local hardware store won't have the proper size outlet cover so you will have to order one either here or from Garvin Industries, they have the correct hole size cover for a 30 amp outlet on a 4x4 junction box. Now onto the machine, set it up, took off the cover of the cutter to check the hose connections, one end of the air hose inside the machine was loose, tightened it ! also used Teflon tape on all the fittings and tightened them. Held air pressure though the gauge on the machine says almost 90 lbs max, BUT your working pressure will be 70 pounds ! cut some 1/8 th thick steel, and it did cut it though but it was sloppy the cut made lots of balled up steel on the cut, perhaps user error, still need to practice using it. BUT it cut it easily at half the rated output. At full output I did not notice a drastic difference in cut quality, going faster does help slightly for a cleaner cut. I am using the provided guard which prevents unnecessary wear on the tips until I get replacement ones. But it works as advertised. The pilot arc makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE in the world to make it easier to start. Now of course I was using a welding helmet which is TOO DARK, get some #5 shade welder's glasses and it should be much easier to see the work and get better results ! Bought this to replace my hypertherm xp30 that died after 10 years. Torch quality feels cheap compared to the xp but it is doing the job. At this price if I get 5 years out of it I will be happy, and the 3 year warranty is a plus. I am normally cutting 1/8” or smaller and use it a few times a month. The pilot arc start is a must IMO, I would not get the cheaper machine without it.

After searching dozens of plasma cutters I decided on this one mainly because of the customer service. There are too many sellers out there that only want to sell you a product then leave you high and dry when it comes to product support. Not this one! I called the seller on a Saturday to inquire about purchasing some consumables . They were closed and I did not leave a message but on Monday I was called back. My question concerning consumables was answered to my satisfaction and more. Who does this? It is someone who cares about the customer and not just selling their product. As to the plasma cutter, it is very easy to operate and will cut through 1/2” mild steel easily. It comes fully assembled. There is no need to assemble anything as is needed on many other plasma cutters. The cutter nozzle comes with a very long cord as does the ground making it very convenient to operate without having the cutter so close to you. I use mine on 220 voltage and it works as it should but the customer service is what makes it stand out above others not to mention the three year warranty, unbelievable!

This is my first plasma cutter. It took me a while to get the shop setup to accommodate this because I needed to install a 30A outlet. Once that was done I assembled the Cut50DP and fired it up. I made some initial settings and made a cut. The first cut was through a vehicle leaf spring. No problem. I made another cut just to make sure the first wasn't a fluke! It worked great. Turn it on, set your power level and adjust the air pressure, attach the ground clamp, lift the trigger cover, press the trigger. The arc lights instantly. The little guide that fits around the nozzle is great for beginners like me...set it on the workpiece for just the right amount of space between the metal and the cutting arc.The unit is very attractive. The fit and finish is nice. It's black...not red like the one pictured. The cutting lead is long...over 13'. The ground lead is slightly shorter. But they give you plenty of reach. One thing I noticed is the amps indicated on the dial don't match with the digital display. Mine was off by about 5 amps. The dial reads much lower than the digital readout. Also, don't over-tighten the torch lead to the back of the machine. It's very difficult to remove if you do that because it's cramped inside the cabinet and it's hard to reach the retaining nuts inside to loosen everything up for removing it.The "new" instruction manual pretty much sucks and leaves out several important items. Typical of a Chinese product. You'd think in a country with the kind of manufacturing capability they have they could find or hire someone to write a decent instruction manual in English. For example...there's a knurled plastic knob-looking piece mixed among the parts. It's supposed to fit over the attaching nut on the end of the torch lead where it attaches to the machine. That way you can hand-tighten the torch lead and not have to go thru so much brain damage to remove it. But that little tidbit of information isn't included anywhere. Little things like that would go a long way towards an easier setup and more enjoyment of the machine.I was surprised by how small and compact this machine is. It fits right on the lower shelf of my welding cart. It's very light, too.All of the accessories fit right to the machine without any issue. The instructions do include some pretty good pictures of the connections on the back of the machine. They do omit the fact that some of the connections on the regulator don't look anything like those pictured...but it's kind of easy to figure out because only certain parts fit in certain places. So just give the assembly a trial run to figure out where everything goes. I had to use an air connection from my own parts to hook up my air hose because none was included. No big deal.There are a few extra parts and consumables included. I recommend ordering one of the accessory consumable kits available on Amazon. That should keep you going for a while and Chinese parts are sometimes hard to come by.I really enjoy this machine and I'm looking forward to learning how to use it a little more effectively. Already started collecting scrap steel for various projects.***UPDATED: 07/12/2017 Additional Photos Added***I used the unit pretty extensively since I got it to cut up an old tank. It's pretty large: about 4.5' x 2' x 1.5' and is about 1/8" thick. The Primeweld works pretty well on this though an acetylene torch would probably be better. I used it to cut an end out of the tank and never reached the thermal shutoff. However, cutting on a long side the thermal cut off kicked in several times. It required stopping, waiting for a few minutes then cutting some more. I had it set to 35A on the digital dial and about 70 PSI air pressure. So, I think I've found about the max this machine can handle. I'm still satisfied with it...just gonna drop from 5 to 4 stars since it shuts down quickly once that thermal cut off kicks in the first time.Keep in mind this review is from someone who's never used a plasma cutter before. It's quite possible my technique is off.

This an excellent machine had it about a year and works great. The customer service is fantastic! I would buy again just because of the customer service!!
