Beautifully done Tag Monaco homage watch
This watch is great nod to the '70s in a thoroughly modern timepiece! The pictures just don't quite capture how great this watch looks. The crystal has this super cool polarized blue tint that you don't see while looking at it straight on but shows up brilliantly when looked at from off center and the colors on the dial are vibrant and very well done. The watch has so far operated flawlessly and keeps time very well. All buttons and settings work as they should and the auto winding mechanism is working very smoothly. The two small side dials increment daily. The watch doesn't have a date window but I have been able to use the dial on the right to fill in for the date function. I haven't paid that much attention to the dial on the left. It does increment daily but I'm not sure if it stops at each index or every other index. Might be able to use that for the day of the week function if it does stop at each index. The metal bracelet that comes on the watch has rolled links and is pretty clanky. I bought a 24mm StrapsCo leather strap with orange stitching at the same time to replace the metal bracelet and am happy to report that it matches the orange on the dial perfectly and compliments the watch nicely.I own a lot of watches but this is absolutely the one that gets everyone's attention. Mostly with comments like "wow, that is a beautiful watch, what his it?"

Day and date function are useless
So for the date, there is a number on the right hand side between 1 and 15.. after the 15th you'll need to add the additional numbers between the one and 15 to get the date, not very practical. As for the day.. that would be the small face on the left marked 1-7..The watch (not including the band is extremely dense) so it is heavy (think oversize Invicta). The box it came in is just thin cardboard with some foam, a link removal pin (instructions on how to remove a pin but NOT for the watch). So gl guessing on how many turns to fill the spring when you're not wearing it.I swear the face is crooked, so I'm not going to bother trying it out to see if it grows on me I'll just be returning.

Watch Face Is Not Aligned Correctly
The face of the watch is off a bit. I know, it could be my batty old eyes, but me no think so.It's a great value, $26 for a good looking watch. But, there are some issues. As per some other reviewers/customers/buyers, I have ordered the Gulf Blue and Orange NATO-style band. It hasn't arrived yet.So I put on a spare brown leather band. That's when I noticed the band springs are bent. No, it's not from me, I have been fixing my own watches for a long time. Not really a big deal, in the long run, but makes me wonder about everything else.Yes, it has to be "wound" by your wrist action, but you know that buying this one. We'll see how accurate it is after a few days of wearing it.It's pretty cool though, for a total of $40 with the band that should be here tomorrow. For now, I have put on another brown leather strap.I don't understand the two day/date dials though.I guess the expect you to figure it out on your own. There was no instructions in the box, at all.The more I look at the day/date, I hate it.You have to add up in your head weather or not the day of the month, the right side, is either an orange hand, or silver. If it's orange, you have to add 15 to what number the orange hand is on. It goes in increments of 5.So today, the 30th, the orange hand is on the 15, so add 15. This makes my brain cell hurt (I only have one left). Don't want to waste it every day adding on 15 to remember the day of the month. For the dial on the left, I assume the month, I have no idea!It goes from nothing (well, probably 3, who knows), with a silver hand that stops who knows where), then there's an orange hand, and yes, you guessed it, it lands on who knows where.Doesn't really matter, I guess.I like the cheap watch. We'll see if it lasts.

Looks like a TAG but you can afford it.
For the grand total of 30.00 dollars you get a pretty decent automatic watch. The watch is not without flaws but I'll give the good first. The case is flawlessly made and looks great. The ad says that the crystal is mineral glass but it has a slightly bluish tint that makes you think that it's really sapphire. Don't know that for sure but it could be. The face is really handsome with the Gulf Oil blue and orange racing stripes. The orange rubber pieces in the corners are there to look like the anti shock suspension in a TAG Heuer Monaco. It doesn't appear to actually attach to the movement. The orange second hand sweeps smoothly around the face. Now for the rest, the watch is supposed to be a chronograph but apparently this is a non functional feature. The band is made of of folded stainless steel links and it is a little bit noisy but I have a 300.00 dollar Wenger that rattled worse. The band on mine had some unevenly finished spots but the clasp works quite strongly. The back of the case has a small exhibition window. You can see the movement's counterweight winder and some of the jewels and springs. Looking at the winder and other parts you can tell that they didn't spend a lot of time polishing the internals. That said, this watch so far has kept excellent time. Is it worth the 30.00 dollars? I think so if it continues to work correctly. This watch only needs a solid stainless steel band to be great and I will probably get one soon. I love that it resembles the Steve McQueen TAG Heuer Monaco in almost every way.
