Smooth wet writer - excellent value for money
Lovely pen that writes very smoothly. The quality of the material of the body and smoothness of the medium nib is remarkable for the money. I have done the old trick of figure of 8's on brown paper to hone the nib further. I can feel that the more I write with it the smoother it becomes as the nib gently moulds to my handwriting style. The flow is wet - although not as wet as my Lammy Studio with B nib (which is a delightful gusher) but this Jinhao 100 is plenty wet enough for me. I find the medium nib on this Jinhao a little narrow for me as I like broad nibs but this is more than made up for by the wetness when you write. I write very fast and as a professional note taker I write a lot. I use the converter with Shaeffer blue black ink. I have yet to try this with cartridges. I think it takes international standard ones. The pen feels solid. It is not too heavy and remains comfortable to use when you write for lengthy periods. I never post the cap on my fountain pens as it always makes the pen feel unbalanced (except for my Kawecko Sport). However if you post, the cap will stay on nicely. There is no satisfying click when you post though. I got this in green and the material looks soooooo expensive and very beautiful. The photos do not do it justice!. Definitely a great fountain pen with quality of workmanship and material that belies the price.

Fantastic value, a nice writer.
This pen is a revelation. I have used vintage and modern fountain pens for decades and this Jinhao is comparable with the best. Seemingly a copy of a modern classic - but at a twentieth of the price! - you'll get a good reliable writer with a good nib and no obvious defects. It feels good in the hand. The nib is, presumably, steel but is none the worse for that. It doesn't glide over the paper like say a vintage Parker Duofold but it writes nicely nonetheless. It's available in some fantastic colours, too, which you'd pay hundreds for from mainstream manufacturers, and not necessarily end up with a better pen.

Surprisingly good writer
I've bought a few Chinese clone pens in the past but I've never been totally satisfied with them writing due to being hard to start or not a consistant ink supply to the nib. Usually they end up in the back of a drawer never to see a converter full of ink again. This one caught my attention due to it's (very) close design of the Parker Duofold - so I took the plunge and ordered one.My expectations weren't very high but upon receiving it I thought it looked quite well made and felt a good balance in my hand. I gave it a customary flush through, as I do with all fountain pens regardless of the price, to remove any manufacturing oils. When inking it took a good sip of Diamine Ink (I've noticed a few Chinese pens don't draw up bottled inks very well).Putting the pen to paper it felt quite good, putting some of the bigger name pen makers to shame tbh, and the nib wrote quite wet and felt smooth.I've now been using the pen for 2 or 3 days and I've been pleasantly surprised by it. The nib is ok for a budget pen and does have a slight toothiness which can easily be remedied with a fine grade mesh paper. But, overall, this it a nice writer and a good starting point for any student wanting to try out a fountain pen.

Great value , beautiful pattern .
I like the chunky look of the top and overall feel of the pen. The nib writes wet and smooth .The pen comes with a convertor and the top is a screw type. The top I feel is not good posted as it only goes on a small amount ,and becomes too long . Exceptional value for money ,both function and presentation . This even comes with a very handy metal tin to protect the pen from damage. Highly recommended.

Amazing pen for a very modest sum
This is a really nice pen to use and the quality is good so far. I had another one where a metallurgical defect in the clip retaining screw caused a problem, it developed after about six weeks, so time will tell with this one. It writes very well indeed. The only minor irritation is the number of turns required to remove the cap; it is just that few more than any other pen I have!

Very nice
I am privileged to own a Parker Duofold Centennial which is an utterly beautiful stunning example of the craft of how to make a fountain pen. Is this Jinhao as good? No. Is it nearly as good? I hate to say this, but yes. I have tried as many of the Chinese Duo fold clonesAs possible, and this has proved by far to be the best tribute. The nib needs a little TLC – if you know about Fountain pens part the times a little and polish the nib (Google it if you don’t know how). with those few caveats I would say what a great pen.

Excellent pen
I have a few Jinhao pens and, like this 100, I have not been disappointed. Excellent value for money and great writing quality

Spoiled by custom engraving
This is a brilliant pen, it's not my first Jinhao 100, unbeatable quality for the price, as most of the Jinhao pens are, and great colour as well (in life is darker and way better than the photos). The huge dissapointment came from the custom engraving of the pen body (sellers ad?).It makes the pen look like the cheap gimmick pens that many companies use as marketing material.I find this completely unacceptable and therefore the pen will be returned straightaway for a refund.
