Brilliant!
I really enjoy the writings of Roberts Liardon. He has really researched his material and shows the Christian leaders who are his subjects warts and all. At the same time, he is a man of faith and he treats them with respect, rather than with the kind of searing criticism of some accounts I have read, which simply destroys any respect for them. This book is both sobering and a faith builder. It makes one aware of the pitfalls and temptations to which these leaders were subject, yet also stimulates one to follow their path of serving and proving God in the power of the Holy Spirit. This book details the lives of some great men of faith and sacrifice.

Inspiring
Really interesting and inspiring book. I planned on reading chunks at a time, but couldn't put it down on the first read. Really kick-started my appreciation of God again. I'm on the second time through now going more thoughtfully and prayerfully.Challenging stuff in here, but makes you want to walk closer with God.

Great book
I didn't want this book to end. It's an inspiring book that has left me more alert to God's word and wanting to do His will. I hadn't heard of some of these people before and I'm blown away by what they have done......why not me too? Thank you Roberts liardon, I'll be adding the other books to my reading list too.
