I'm in Love, Y'all!
This computer is da bomb! It is much better than my old Surface Pro 7, I3, 4gb, 128gb, 1.2. A 15" screen is much larger than a 12.4" screen, but it is still portable. The 15" screen allows for split-screen viewing. Plus, I also still have my Surface Pro 7, which I expect will die soon, and a Remarkable as well as a mini-PC and a Kindle, so I don't need for this computer to be highly portable, just convenient. It is my all-around computer, whereas I use my Remarkable just for writing poetry. The Kindle, for reading. (Those last two allows for better focus on a single task.)This computer is solidly built, more so than the Surface Pro. The external parts are metal and glass. The touch on the keyboard is soft, and the keys seem a little more sensitive than the detachable Surface keyboard. The keys are backlit.I would have liked a black model, but actually I'm happy to have the silver, because I tend to work in low light conditions. I can see this computer. It is fast, and the increased RAM should make keeping 12 tabs open, which I do tend to do while researching, less taxing on the computer. Although the SSD can be replaced, I like having cloud storage. It was easy for me to setup this computer, because as soon as I logged into my OneDrive account, all of my files were downloaded to this computer. I had to download the software files to it, though. My point: The size of the SSD, or hard drive, doesn't mean much to me.I also wanted my Surface Pen to still be useful. This Surface Laptop allows me to write on the screen. I discovered that doing so is useful when you need to sign documents, although I am also an artist.

Defective battery on arrival. Won't charge. Do not buy
Purchased this a couple weeks ago. First off it arrived in some kind of Amazon recycled cardboard box instead of Microsoft's original retail packaging. Couldn't really tell if this is brand new though. After initial setup I noticed the battery always stays at 0% even when plugged in. Left it plugged in overnight and it's been 0% ever since. Obviously the battery is defective. Then I requested for a refund. As I live overseas I'd need to ship it back to the seller, which is a third-party seller in Florida BTW, meaning I have to ask the seller to reimburse the shipping charges, as opposed to having Amazon doing this for me. It turns out I have to pay some USD$200 to ship it back first and chances are I may not get reimbursed at all as the seller doesn't seem to think they have to pay for it. After some chatting Amazon service reps don't think it's their responsibility either and keep asking me to ask the seller to pay for shipping or ship it back first then claim reimbursement later, which I doubt will ever happen.I also reached out to local Microsoft asking about getting a replacement. They were helpful but also made sure to let me know that any replacement won't be a brand new machine. So I'm kind of stuck here not knowing what to do next. Pissed, obviously. This is why I'm writing this review.BTW upon checking the serial number MS says my machine is enterprise bulk purchase model, not a retail one. Not sure if this info matters at all but though you might wanna know.
