Great Seats
These seats are tremendous and very competitively priced. They take inspiration from existing race seats - most notably the RECARO "Speed V" seats - which generally cost 75% more.Indeed, the RECARO's may be better but despite any superiority they may claim, they are a premium product that is not a financially justifiable option for most. The IKONs, on the other hand, offer a very respectable option for everyone.I used these IKONs to replace the original leather seats of a 1999 BMW 5-Series (E-39). Unlike the original seats, the mechanism of the IKON's is manual and simple. I much prefer this. Regarding comfort, I find them very comfortable. I also added headrest pillows to mine. The only downside is that there is no option to raise and lower these seats once installed. They seat at a normal height but if one wants these seats higher, longer screws and spacers are the solution - if not simply a cushion. Also, I highly recommend buying brackets made specifically for your car, for the "universal ones" were totally incompatible in my case.I bought the brackets made by Planted Technologies. Although I still needed to modify them a little by drilling two holes and replacing the original rear socket head screws with hex head screws in order to tighten them from the side, it was perfect.Note: Pull out the cable from the original seat and replug it to floor and the seat belt buckle. That way the seatbelt light can continue working as before.

No instructions or diagrams included !!
I installed these seats in a sand rail (off road) I am building. It’s unfortunate that no instructions were included with the seats. Moreover, the sliders are unmarked. There should (could) have been a label on each indicating the UP side and which end is FORWARD. A diagram for the sliders is included on Amazon’s webpage (which should be labeled TOP VIEW; a PDF of the diagram would be better!). For seats like this, the only thing that really matters is the total travel range (backward + forward). According to the diagram, travel is 5½” forward and ~3” backward, for a total travel of ~8½”, which should be specified in Amazon’s description for the seats. It is not! There seems to be some precision issues in the manufacturing process for the sliders. With the release lever pressed, some sliders can be moved fairly easily, which others seem stuck and require a lot of force. When I complained to Ikon, they offered to send me a replacement set of sliders for one seat. They also suggested that for best movement, the sliders need the weight of the seat and a seated person. The mounting holes in the sliders are punched, not bored. The top elongated holes through which the cap screws go (to attach the slider to the seat bottoms) left minor burrs which can be hit with a flat fileThe bottom holes are punched from the bottom. For the front elongated holes, the burr left on the top side will not interfere with a bolt head (but use a flat washer!). In the rear 3 holes, a significant burr is left which should be removed. I used a chamfer tool on a drill press, followed by a rotary stone, with some work with a bastard file.I mounted the seat sliders on a 2x2 fir (1½” x 1½”) support 13½” long. I then used 5/16” bolts to fasten the slider/support onto the steel floorboard (2 on each side of the seats). Once I finally got the seats installed, I can confirm that the seats slide much better when I’m seated and my weight is on the seat. (I can’t understand the mechanism for this but can report that the seat slides much better when a person is seated.) This phenomenon should be mentioned in a set of instructions (see above) !!

⚠️ WARNING!!!! ⚠️Terrible AND DANGEROUS seats!!
After only a month, they started feeling uncomfortable. Not too long after that, bolts came loose on the backrest, so the seat had a lot of play. I tightened the bolts back up but it came loose again and again. After a year and a half, they reclined back on their own with MINIMUM FORCE while driving. If you put these seats in your car, they WILL ENDANGER YOU!! The only thing these seats are good for is for a GAMING CHAIR, and this is practically what it is!! Contacted the seller and of course the refund window is closed. These seats are a lawsuit waiting to happen!!!

Quality seats for a cheap price
Nice seats especially for the price, I saw another review that said the sliders wouldn't work and at first I had that problem but it was all about angle and weight . Flipped the seat upside down when mounting the brackets and the sliders worked fine. Matching the sliders to the stock mounting bracket was a pain, but that will vary from vehicle to vehicle , stock-aftermarket brackets. I stuck with stock brackets (2004 ford explorer sport trac) and had to use a dremmel with a sanding and cutting wheel and a grinder with cutting wheel and sanding disc and drill to match everything up with relocation brackets from amazon. I just got these so I can't speak about longevity or wear and tear but just going by what I've seen so far they a very nice for the price.

Sliders are not good.
I shoehorned these into my 79 Fiat 124 2000.Pros:The seats are pretty Good. Soft, nice color and decent padding. Includes all nuts and bolts. Sliders are robust and well lubedCons: sliders worse I've ever worked with. Left and right do no set equal in length. Slide locks do not stop at same point. The sliders unlock "U" shaped adjustment handle is very poorly made, easily comes off sliders. But that brought it down to 4 stars.3 stars because 3 of 8 tapped mounting threads had to be rethreaded 8mmx 1.25. Soft metal. Bolt went in 1/4" then started cross-threading. And it was on a bench.Lastly, these are really tall. My bad though because my 72 year old eyes misread it as 36" not 38".Are they worth the $$$, if they had better quality control...maybe yes.I came really close to sending them back. I just never give up.
