Possible Fake (brass version)
I purchased grey and a brass, one of each. They grey version is a good lock, the brass version appears to be fake as it’s very very different and extremely poor quality. It was badly scratched and dented, the spring on the lock was not strong enough (the bolt gets stuck half way which could potentially cause a stuck door), the knob spindle wobbles about meaning knobs would always be loose, the latch gets jammed when half depressed, the edge of the lock body is uneven and the keep was not bent to shape properly.

Yale? The keep is too small for the lock
This lock could never have worked. The latch can't fit into the keep unless the door is 5mm or more recessed behind the frame. If anyone at Yale had ever tried to fit this lock to a door they would have noticed the problem. Shame they never did.It doesn't help that the frame end of the lock sweeps outwards away from the door like the ramp at the end of an aircraft carrier. It wasn't obvious if that was part of the design or poor manufacturing. Why did I think that paying double for Yale was a good idea?UPDATE:3 months later the latch has dropped off so I can only keep the door closed with the key. Great job.

FELL TO PIECES - AVOID THE AGGRO...
After a few months of very light use - opening and closing the door - plus the key was never used to lock the door - the inside of the lock fell out rendering it useless and the door cannot be closed. It cost a small fortune to install using a joiner and will have to pay for it to be removed. Also, despite light use the Keep became chipped when the lock made contact. Seller demanded photos - NO APOLOGY for inconvenience and is querying request for a refund. THIS IS TAT, NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE AND WILL NOT LAST - AVOID!

Fell to pieces during install
This is very obviously a China import made of thin metal. There is no security and it can be unlocked with a bent wire. The spring fell out during a professional install, and I am not convinced it is weatherproof. My worry is, if it fails in the closed position, that I will have to destroy the door to gain access. They look passably antique, but cheap as chips.

it works but feels and is cheap
What do you expect at this price?Probably on a par with other cheap chinese brands.I just got it for a back gate to prevent it being opened by accident functional but low/zero securityNot sure of the rationale behind using a well known trademark like “Yale” to peddle cheap chinese stuff
