Non Lethal
So far this thing is amazing. There were some negative reviews but I took a chance. It is a grand weapon for the money. It loads and fires well. I haven’t use the pepper balls yet but the rubber ones fire well. Make sure you don’t use it without the Silicone lube oil. And make sure to get the 8 gm CO2 cartridges as th standard 12 gm are to large. Lube both the tip of the cartridges and the loading chamber. The barrel will be lube from the projectiles that are fired. Only use one small drop of the oil. It’s Important.

GREAT LTL option.
First off, this thing is REALLY good piece of mind. I have been handling firearms for almost 40 years. My wife has one as well, but sometimes is a little reticent when it comes to openly handling, charging, and making the weapon safe, which is completely understandable given her lack of experience and handling them. This little guy is a GAME CHANGER. She absolutely loved the idea of a LTL that can easily be transported in her truck and is 50 state compliant without a license. The unit itself:It is quite hefty. I have CCs that are much smaller, lighter, but no safeties and completely lethal. So this is a great alternative. It is a little larger than you would think, but not a deal breaker for an adult. Capacity has been noted by some to be lacking, but 5 pepper/kinetic .50 (sweet) caliber balls fit in it with ease. I actually stagger them for the triple tap. Pepper, kinetic, pepper again. .50 balls of either type are readily available.Trigger pull is crisp and VERY smooth. I am not sure if other reviewers had a bad unit or what, but 7 o'clock and 2 o'clock pull are non existent.Decently accurate!!! I cannot stand optics on pistols and quite frankly think they are 100% laughable. I hit 300 yards with a 45ACP...You do not need a laser/red dot/etc on a pistol...The sights are trench and built in but manageable. PLEASE do not paint this like some youtubers have...the orange makes the trench sights very visible.I did not test the pepper cloud, but a friend noted they had and it is effective up to about 10 away after dispersal so I will take their word for it.Loading is pretty easy but the chamber catch on mine was apparently broken and does not want to stay shut. A little strip of duct tape solved that problem so no biggie.Comes with 3X 8 Gram CO2 cartridges and 10 pepper and 10 "practice" (kinetic) rounds and as noted earlier I stagger them for pepper, pepper/disorient/pepper. I LOVE the backstrap (guessing? as it does not have a hammer) charge notification pin and CO2 release. VERY well thought out so you are not wasting cartridges. Also 8gm cartridges are also readily available.Which brings me to charging it. I and my wife LOVE the slap-to-charge. Again you can pre-load it and carry it all day the time without the CO2 bleeding off and it can rapidly be charged and engage. Slap, fun button time.Loading it is not the FASTEST...but if the threat is not neutralized with the 5 round capacity, chances are LTL will not take care of it and my other 19 friends that can run REALLY fast get to enter the show.As noted my trap door would not stay shut. Not a deal breaker as I am a grown man and know how to fix something and I like this little thing.Fully loaded and with CO2 cartridge it does run just over 650+ grams (2lbs) it is still decently light enough for easy carry.I would definitely say, if you want a fantastic LTL for a loved one OR yourself...this is a fantastic option.Rock solid 4 stars just because the gate would not stay closed...but still a great option.*UPDATE 2 days later and with a little practice...My wife LOVES this thing....Upgraded to 5 stars...Put dents in steel and went straight through plastic...Outstanding!!!*

Better than advertised
The weight is ok, sounds like a .22lr, is effective against most people and pest. The sights are a little low and the grip is not the most comfortable, however this product is outstanding.Note this only holds 4 roundsGreat choice for self defense, only downside being that for "compact" it is still pushing a full size figure.Update: shot myself in the face with pepper balls and just to see if it works and yes it does but its about a medium in terms of spice.

Trigger guard doesn’t stay in place
It seems sturdy but I’d prefer a good old fashioned safety switch.

Works well as a EDC non-lethal tool.
A nice alternative to lethal forms of self-defence. Designed not to hang-up on pockets, purses, fanny packs, etcetera. The CO2 design is excellent in that you can carry this for months/years without having to change out the cartridge or replace blown out seals.

DANGEROUS PROUCT - Literally Exploded!
The media could not be loaded. Initially I loved this product as it was easy to use and quite powerful. I also liked the compact size. However, about halfway thru the third air cartridge it started to malfunction. I would pull the trigger for one shot, which would come out fine. But the next time I pulled the trigger it wouldn't shoot the ammo, it just let out a puff of air. I looked closely and noticed the loading latch came loose. I re-latched it and fired another shot, which came out fine. But again, the shot afterwards was just a puff of air. The latch had come loose again. This happened over and over. Finally, when it was out of air, I went to replace the cartridge. I unloaded the spent one, but when I loaded the new one it didn't have a hard stop as I screwed it in. It kept spinning and spinning, so I realized the threads are stripped. I wasn't able to unwind it, so I will never be able to remove the cartridge that is currently loaded.I sent it back to Umarex and it took them over two weeks to replace. When I received my replacement it lasted exactly three cartridges before having the same issues and the threads stripping again! Either they just disassembled/reassembled my old one and shipped it back to me or these are just junk! The third one they sent literally exploded while sitting on my office desk in the middle of the night! And it wasn't the air cartridge that exploded. It was in tact, but the gun exploded into six pieces, shearing the bolts off. Nobody had touched it since the morning before, so this item is a serious safety risk. I sent a message to the same customer service agent who I dealt with previously to report this serious matter. They have ignored my emails and have zero interest in investigating what caused their product to explode. I'm just thankful it didn't explode when anyone was near it, because if there had been it would have caused serious injury.

Seems effective, but…
Pros: Affordable, has sufficient velocity, easy to load. Came with 3 CO2 cartridges (8 gram); can reload additional projectiles and still use existing CO2 cartridge in place.Cons; for a compact is it larger and heavier than desired; uses smaller CO2 cartridges (8 gram vs more common 12 gram); VERY difficult to unscrew the CO2 cap- unable with out using supplied Allen wrench; Only holds 4 projectiles a significant problem; Unable to determine how long a cartridge will last once activated but not fired. No place to store 4 more projectiles on it to have reload option. Overall marginally acceptable. Having only 4 projectiles makes this barely suitable.
