Don't get with the F catalyst
Dow Corning RTV is great but the F catalyst (means FAST cure) cures way to fast for most uses. Use the S catalyst with either 3110 or 3120 RTV base and get much better results. Dow RTV is better than anything else I have tried because the paste type catalyst is easy to measure accurately by weight thus being more economical.

check expiration date with vendor before buying
The product is as described, however we received it with 4 months of shelf life left (out of the original 18 months). If you are planning on using it right away, it shouldn't be a problem for you. However the base "self-activates" over time, the catalyst only speeds up the rate of the reaction, but the reaction is happening in the sealed package. So, as the base gets close to its expiration, it gets firmer. Not ideal if you are looking for a "running" silicone that would create a perfect mold of a finely textured surface. The vendor was not helpful.
