Extremely happy with how well this product works. If it continues to work this well then this will be my deodorant from now on. It’s a little pricey, but considering how much money I’ve wasted trying to find something that lasts all day I would say it’s worth the expense. It doesn’t take much. A thin coat on my finger tip per arm pit was all it took. Even after the gym I was still free of body odor. No aluminum and natural ingredients were the main factors that drove me to give this brand a shot. No skin irritation, though my skin is not really sensitive. I’ve tried other other natural ingredient brands but none worked longer than a few hours.Update on 6/16/25As long as they keep the formula as it was when I made this purchase, they’ll have a life long customer. I’ll just say that I noticed I was breaking out with what seemed like mild heat bumps during a 2 week or so time span but after that no more issues. The scent is amazing. Don’t be turned off by the price. I’d rather pay more for something that actually works without all the harmful chemicals that traditional deodorant contains. I’m really happy I decided to give it a shot and stick with it past that 2 week period. Try it for yourself and you’ll be glad you did.

Only deodorant I use now

Ok, so I was really uninterested in spending a million dollars on deodorant, but after trying a tiny sample from a local store, I decided to make the "investment". Holy crap, people, am I glad I did.First off, this smells incredible. I'm a single mom, and my girlfriends and I joke that any time I feel lonely, I just put some of this on and am the happiest camper in the world.Second, it actually works. I wasted a lot of money on every kind of natural deodorant I could find, and they either didn't work for more than a couple of hours, felt "soapy" (one of them literally lathered on my armpit hair...shudder), or gave me horrible rashes. My skin isn't even that sensitive, but the ingredients in others literally gave me allergic reactions. Some of them actually bleached my armpit hair, no joke. Routine does non of this. And I really love how soft it feels after applying.Third, it has lasted me forever. I went to use it this morning, and wondered how long it's been since I purchased. Lo and behold, I ordered this FIVE months ago. Five. What?! I go through normal deodorant really quickly; pregnancy hormones threw me off, as has my IUD. I don't need to use more than a small swipe for each pit, and it lasts all day. If I'm super active, I might reapply it once during that day.(I also wash my armpits with an incredible natural tea tree wash by Purely Northwest that is specifically for armpits, feet and skin irritation; initially I purchased it to help with mosquito bites last summer, and realized it's kind of magic. Between the two of these,I only need to apply deodorant maybe once every other day at most. THIS WAS NEVER THE CASE, PEOPLE.)A girlfriend of mine tried this brand in two different scents / formulas, and hated them. She went through both in a month each; I'm not sure how that happened, and can't speak to any of them besides Superstar and Moon Sisters. I know hers were heavy on citrus, and we both sweat the same amount and need the same strength of deodorant.All that to say in my personal experience, I absolutely love this product, and will continue to use it. The price point is way worth it, and I really love taking care of my body without using weird chemicals or smelling like an old goat. For years I have been using the standard stick style solid deodorants that although effective they were not entirely healthy and did cause occasional side effects like clogged pores and rashes. I tried many organic and natural products most all of which just led me down the opposite path to failure. Some of these products either just did not work or had horrible side effects much worse than the standard stick style deodorants. Eventually I ended up trying the Routine product and there I found something that worked and did not cause any skin irritation. This product does take some getting used to. It is a dark colored cream and requires one to be exacting in its application to the skin. It is a bit messy but with some practice one gets used to the application method. I use this product on various other places on my body and it has a really nice masculine scent (Superstar) to it. It lasts several hours and gets me through most days with just a single application. I find a nice balance to this product and it has become my new standard in my daily personal hygiene. It is a bit pricey but one jar will last me several months. I am very picky and particular about any product that touches my sensitive skin so I am quite happy to report this one is a keeper!

I purchased this because it is a natural, charcoal based deodorant that is so highly rated for dealing with body odor effectively. I've tried numerous other natural deodorants (Tom's, Schmidts, Native, Weleda, Attitude, and more) and while many smell good, go on nicely, and have plastic free packaging, none of them actually dealt with the nervous/stressed body odor (which is so much worse than exercise odor). I have to say, that this product does seem to handle the odor! So that's great, BUT, I do not love the scent. I know Routine has other scents, but they aren't the charcoal deodorant so I'm not sure if they'd work as well. Rock Star scent is spicy and makes me think of Old Spice- it does not smell gender neutral to me personally. I really wish there were other, more neutral scents like citrus or sandalwood. I also do not love that you have to apply it with your fingers- I wish they had this in a roll on. But, if the scent was different, I wouldn't mind this as much. After applying, my fingers smell spicy for hours afterward until I've washed my hands quite a few times. So 5 stars for effectiveness, but 3 stars for scent and application.
