Clear, detailed photos
Exactly what I needed! Way better to use this to identify safe versus unsafe snakes. I used to bring snakes (dead) into work for someone there to identify for me. Surprised my coworkers didn't buy one of these guides for me! Seriously, snakes terrify me and I always believe it's poisonous, so it's comforting to see how many NON-poisonous snakes there are in Tennessee.

Ok, but images are not overly helpful
This pamphlet is ok if you already know all the snakes, but the pictures don't show distinguishing characteristics of the snakes that I would expect from a field guide. Especially like similarity and differences for poisonous and non-poisonous snakes (Eastern Milk Snake and Copperhead descriptions are not all that different for instance, when you factor in variations in color/intensity for individual snakes.)

Snakes are my favorite...
I love snakes - we have 12 non native species. I wanted to have something that helps me get to know what species are native to my area. My kids loved this. Overall very informative, loved the pictures.

Easy guide to identifying native snake species.
I purchased this for my husband and stepson during their weekend hiking trip. Over the last year I have spent a lot of time in an online group learning about the various native snakes both venomous and non-venomous. Since I would not be around to identify anything they come across I looked into this booklet. It is very easy to read has quick access information and identification information. It also lists the top for venomous snakes in Tennessee. The only thing that would be better in their booklet is a snakebite crisis line phone number and a small section outlining what to do if you are a bit by a venomous snake. This is very well-made and laminated to hold up in a pack sack or Tacklebox.

Nice Field Guide
This was bought as a gift for a hiking friend who wanted to identify snakes he encountered along the way. The light and compact form factor make it easy for him to pack. The colored illustrations are of good quality, and the accompanying information seems accurate. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the guide is laminated which makes it easy to clean and water resistant. Just a neat product and a welcome addition my my hiker's kit.
