Good modem for the price
This Arris modem was really easy to set up. Virtually plug and play.So far, it has had no issues and there have been no signal drops or buffering. I appreciate that it is a modem and wifi combo, so it occupies less space than my old devices. In my opinion, it's a good value.

Great for a compact and effective internet system
It is amazing especially when you pair it with a cat 8 ethernet cord, tiny and compact so perfect if you want to keep cords and antennas to a minimum since there are no goofy antennas. This may effect the ability for it to preform wirelessly but i dont notice it on my phone and with the aforementioned ethernet cord ive been having a flawless experience :)

Never got it to work
Could never get it connected with my ISP. I tried an Arris SB8200 instead and that worked just fine. Maybe their refurbishing process needs refurbished.

Been perfect for years
Bought this item years ago, still works like a charm.. was significantly better than what my service provider gave me.. it solved all the problems I was having prior.. my isp is notorious for having poor quality internet, but it was really just their junk setup the entire time.. this cured all my problems

Terrific Surfboard aka Modem Router Combination.
Provides magnificent Wi-Fi throughout the house and way out into my yard, saving me from $20-$60/month on my Cell Phone Gigs used. It also saves me from my Cable Company's $14/month Rental Fees (this ARRIS SBG8300 is actually free after the first 11-12 months, from No Cable Bills)!Excellent Cable Viewing from the basic Network News, Live Sports and to every Streaming Service available. My TV screen has a clear, crisp sound and picture. The only problems I've run into, since my purchase 9 months ago, were directly from my Cable and Internet Provider.I chose a Refurbished Unit and a lot of Insurance but, I have had Zero issues with my device.⏭️ The ARRIS SBG8300 DOCSIS 3.1 MODEM/ ROUTER was an excellent choice.✴️ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

looks like new and looks like Arris did the refurbish
Just as good as buying new. set up was easy and did have to call my internet service to complete install but it did not take very long. The package was an arris refurbish box and the new modem was covered in the factory protection. I found no signs of damage or previous use. I have bought refurbished items in the past and always received a quality item this is no different the item meets my expectations.

Good performance but parental controls are practically worthless
I used this router to replace an ASUS router that claimed to have outstanding features to support parental control — except that none of the features actually existed. This Arris router didn't make such claims, but even the ones it made are terrible to implement.• The signal is strong throughout the house on both floors.• I can see the devices that are connected, but the Surfboard isn't very good at identifying which type of device is connected. Unless you know the MAC address of the device, odds are you won't be able to identify it. And when you do identify it, you can't assign a label to it to help you remember/identify it again next time.• If you want to shut down a device from 10PM - 7AM every day, that's impossible to do. You can only define a single time range for each date. You can either shut it down for 10-midnight or midnight-7, but not both.• But even then, it doesn't work. I've turn off access from midnight-7, and at some other time during the day, the access is blocked. And after trying to select different time ranges, the only way to provide access was to completely turn off the filter. I thought maybe the device wanted me to convert to GMT, but that didn't work either. So that was disappointing, as it was the most important feature that I wanted from the router. But as far as I can tell, no router really implements parental control very well.
