Definitely worthwhile!
I think this is a good value for the money, because it actually works! Straight up, I waited for the Amazon days to catch the discount which made it even sweeter, but the bottom line is it works even at full price! The thing with this press is to not guerriller it I repeat do not throw your weight into this, you want to pour off your liquid and try to keep the solids back and let it strain let it drip in its own time and then you're going to use the plunger to help squeeze the last of your carrier whether it's oil or butter or alcohol out of the solids. When I first got this and tried it I was leaning into it a bit and did not break anything of course I wasn't that crazy, but it's something that you just want to let strain out let the gravity help. I found this to be very efficient and very pleasant to use with great results. It's very easy cleanup and I recommend . Yes I did all the old school methods and grabbed everything in my kitchen that I could think of and even picked up some things that I thought would help ,along the way of doing infusions. It's fun being clever but you know what this is a timesaver, and to me it's worth it I was very pleased with the results and I have absolutely no regrets that I purchased this. It's well made it's well thought out and it's easy enough to use if you handle it with care and use it smartly you will have no problems. Even if you're not using the magical butter machine, and you're extracting/infusing however you wish, you'll find this a valuable tool. Just use it smartly and you'll be very impressed with the results! Happy infusing!

if you make infusions, you absolutely need to buy this!
This is absolutely the best way to retrieve every possible drop of your expensive products. I used it so much I wore it out. Then guess what happened? After a 2min chat conversation with the company, They sent me replacement parts for free. Great Product. Fantastic service. I love it so much I bought a second one.

This is the best invention since sliced bread!
I use this to filter everything, tinctures, nut milk, you name it. Now, I would be lost without it.

Not Perfect, But Pretty NICE!!!
The media could not be loaded. I have a Magical Butter Machine that I load up to the max!! I put 5 ounces (140g) and 5 cups of dry herb. After the machine completes its cycle, I let things “rest” and allow as much “sludge” as possible to sink to the bottom of the machine. I purchased a silicone pour spout that I attach to the machine to eliminate the dripping that occurred while pouring out the contents (especially moreso at the beginning of the “pour”).I very slowly pour the Magical Butter Machine’s contents into the filter press being careful to just keep the sludge from coming into the filter press. After almost all liquid is poured into the press, I then use a spatula to spoon out the left-over sludge into a fine filter bag and finish getting the last few drops out of this by the squeeze technique. After all dripping has stopped from the Filter Press, I then put the plunger in and do a heavy press to get out a bit more liquid and clean out the filter press that only has a little bit of compressed sludge left in it.My first attempt in using this was to mix everything together in hopes to eliminate the need to take out the sludge which accumulates at the bottom if not mixed vigorously. When I did this, I was not able to immediately pour the entire MIXED “recipe” into the filter press. When I finally got most of the product into the press, the plunging did not effectively get most of the liquid out!!! The top half of the sludge appeared fairly dry, but when I went to “spoon” it out, I noticed that the bottom was much more wet!!! I then proceeded put this into a nut bag and squeeze out the remaining liquid. I suppose I could have just pressed the remaining product out again. This machine is great in the sense that I can put it directly into a mason jar. I am still playing around with different techniques to make this process as easy as possible, so the learning curve of using this may improve my impression of it.

Great unit, but found a user error....
So this press is wonderful, I was excited about using it. I set it up (after months of finding the time to do so). All seemed most excellent, till I poured, looked down and realized I forgot to screw the jar on. After I fixed that it worked great. I have now used it with many batches of.... teas and such. I do recommend a smooth no slip area to work and make sure you have enough room in the jar before you press, it is amazing how much tea you can spill all over when the jar is over filled.Happy tea making.
