Be patient
Mine just sprouted! I live in California. I tried the indian soap berry but those never sprouted. These however are more native to my climate. I rubbed them on the sidewalk to scuff up the shells and i soaked them in warm water overnight. I kept the soil moist and in a warm window with lots of sunlight. One day, several months later and boom! One of them just popped up. It’s been a week and it’s already three inches tall!

Never Sprouted
I put a couple of seeds in a sprouter. I put a couple in pots with potting soil. I put a seed in the ground. Not one ever sprouted. I have waited months for any activity from the seeds before leaving this review..
