My favorite wet media sketchbook.
I mainly use it for gouache, it handles quite a bit of water and the paper is great quality. The binding is sturdy. I also prime the paper with acrylic matte medium in order to use oils in it and it works fantastic for that as well. Loved it so much I ordered it in another size!

Test driving different sketchbooks - this is the winner so far.
I’m testing the paper in this sketchbook for ink pen & watercolor wash. I’m used to 100% cotton cold pressed, rough & Khadi rag paper sketchbooks - all very textured, so this is a different experience. I’m testing this also to see if the size suits me. I’m going on a short trip to Europe and want to do my urban sketching along the way - it is not a sketch crawl or an art trip in any way otherwise I’d take a much larger book & lots more equipment. I want to be a little under the radar (that won’t last long!). Because this is a cellulose paper product it doesn’t feel so precious and gives permission to just go for it - that’s very freeing. My pens glide across the page and the paper takes a good amount of water without curling or buckling - it’s a nice weight, a weight that I believe many urban sketchers prefer. Back to the size, it always surprises me how much information I can get in a small page format. Also I appreciate how thin the book is! The thicker papers make fatter books. I easily carry this around with me hardly remembering it’s in my purse! A huge plus for travel. Bottom line I would recommend it. I’ve only done a couple of not very good sketches in it so far so not sharing photo yet L.O.L.

Favorite urban sketching book
I love the size and convenience of the sketchbook. I can walk to the park with it and it doesn't get in the way, it's not hard or heavy to carry. I use my fude pens, pencles and watercolor. This Sketchbook is not meant for heavy watercolor washes, It's a sketchbook. If your are looking to do a masterpiece work you wouldn't use a sketchbook, You would buy 300 pound cotton watercolour paper. Those complaining about this paper are using too much water or heavy handed. Tip use light washes and wait to dry before adding more washes.
