The title says it all. This is probably the best watercolor sketchbook out there from the quality of the of cover to the slightly smooth paper to the lightweight portability, it all comes together to make a sketchbook that is worth your time and investment. It's amazing that it's only 200gsm because it can take quite a bit of water and as long as you close the book with the strap over night, it dries flat.I'm very picky with watercolor paper especially because the as an ink and wash artist, the paper needs to be on the smoother side so my pen can glide, but at the same time, not so smooth that the watercolor doesn't have any room to shine. Keeping this in mind, this sketchbook ticks all those concerns, which makes it my favorite sketchook so far for ink and wash technique or just watercoloring in general.Do yourself a favor and stop looking for watercolor sketchbooks and just buy this one. You won't be disappointed!

I received the journal yesterday. I went with this one on the recommendation of a You Tuber. I’m going to use it for urban sketching on my vacation. I’ve gotten into sketching old doorways from photos on Pinterest but can’t wait to use it on site in Italy. This paper seems like it will be great for watercolor and fine liners. I wanted something that would well with the wetness of the paints, but would also be a bit smooth for the fine liners. And. I love the feel off the cover and the fact that it is stiff, so if I need to draw on my lap, I’ll have the support. Overall, very happy!

The paper is just to thin for me and the water effects the other side of your work. So if you're not real careful the water can activate the watercolor on the other side... So I guess you can't use it on both sides if you use alot of water. I have just used less water and put a paper under the side I'm working on. How ever I'm just not thrilled... Everything else is top notch. I do need to say I love the same brand that's 100% cotton and has a blue label..

I first purchased this sketchbook in Paris and was so happy to find out it was available on Amazon!!I love the weight of the paper, color, and the texture.I know it is made for watercolor but I mainly use it for graphite sketches.It’s a bit more expensive than other brands but so worth it in my opinion!I’ve purchased this multiple times in various sizes and have not been disappointed.Highly recommend!

They’re good as described and thick enough for doing light wash watercolor painting.
