My son used this Polar Clear Lacquer for a woodworking project, and I have to say the results are beautiful. He carefully rollered it on outside, let it dry (thankfully!), and then proudly brought it inside to show off his handiwork. That’s when the stink hit.Imagine if a paint factory and a nail salon had a baby—that’s the aroma now haunting our home. If this lacquer were a person, it would be the guest at a party who looks amazing but refuses to shower.That said, the finish is great, and my son is thrilled with how his project turned out. The wood looks fantastic, and it seems like it will hold up forever, which is about how long I expect this smell to linger.Highly recommended if you want a durable, satin finish, just make sure you have a well-ventilated area and are ready for the lasting smell!

Painted over some horrid kitchen floor tiles with Rustoleum floor tile paint. Was not confident that the paint was going to be 100% resistant against chipping and scratches so bought this clear top coat to go over it. Went on nicely. Nice satin finish over Rustoleum's matt. 1l tin goes a long way. Managed 4 layers for a medium sized kitchen floor area. As noted by another reviewer, it takes a few days to dry hard. 4 stars for this reason.

I have painted lots of little painted models with this stuff. It really stinks when curing, you really need to have fresh air in plenty supply - but once it has cured it's brilliant and has been hard wearing so far. really makes the colours pop out :)

First time I bought this it was great hence buying it again recently. However the second time the product in the tin seems entirely different! It paints on like its part set and is hard to spread. It therefore gos on really thickly resulting in dimples when it dries. The fumes caused a serious head ache to appear several housr after using it it. The second coat was no better. I am likely to have to sand it all off and use something else. Will be asking for my money back!

Good varnish, but the smell is extremely strong and took days to fade away. If possible use outdoors or have all the windows and doors open

Looks fab sitting unopened in my shed.

This has given a very nice satin finish to the piece of furniture I was restoring. I goes on easily but be aware it does have a strong smell so keep your room well ventilated

This clear coat can be used to protect Matt paint finishes of getting marked etc and dries Matt.
